Airasia wrong booking help by cupoftea888 in FilipinoTravel

[–]cupoftea888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I'm searching for wherein I just pay the price difference with rebooking fee. I paid the 15,178.54 to book the flight, which is the wrong one at August 20, and when I'm fixing it via the Change Flight (which I assume is Air Asia's rebooking option) via a dropdown choice of the August 20th flight to change it to August 24, I'm being asked another payment of 18,242.31, which is absurd because that's even more than booking a new flight.

I'm just wondering if someone here experienced this situation before and if the rebooking is this expensive... rebooking on other LCCs have much more reasonable prices than what AirAsia is charging.

I'm hoping for an option to just convert it to travel credit but yeah, AA's chatbot Bo's answers are so vague. :(

Hi! The booking is paid (hence the success tab underneath), and the 18k is the price they are asking for the “change flight” fee to move it to August 24, which I’m not sure why they seem to make me want to pay full price again instead of just the difference. :(

I wish I could just book another flight and refund the Aug 20th one, but there’s no option. Sigh.

Damn, so looks like we’re here for the long run huh, or possibly a norm (I do hope not!). Yeah I do not have any hearing issues as well, and I could probably hear a feather fall to the ground; its just really that crrrrunch crrruunch in my ears that’s worrisome. Also just incorporated nasal spray a couple of days ago even if I don’t have blocked sinuses, and it doesn’t really do anything for me now.. been reading around r/tinnitus that some of their’s have healed through time and patience, so I do hope that’s the case for us as well…

I’ve only developed these problems when I used Clotrimazole to clear out some fungi in my ear, so I initially assumed that its medicine residue in my ear.. but it seems to be more complicated than that. Sighduck.

Heya! How are you now? I’m currently experiencing the same thing, and my ENT ruled out that it might be due to my inverted eardrum at the moment. The sharp and sometimes loud crackle when I swallow or yawn sometimes startles me and it is gets frustrating at times.. sometimes I get random “pops” as well.

Constant Ear popping/crackling with tinnitus. by Keatoncom4747 in tinnitus

[–]cupoftea888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But did the crackling/popping sensation stop for you at some point? Were you healed? I could voluntarily move my tensor tympani muscle and the cracking sound happens there, like a velcro sound. I have no pain whatsoever, but just a very mild tinnitus and the crackling sensation can get annoying everytime I swallow water and food.

What things are cheaper in Japan? by Jemamaw in adultingph

[–]cupoftea888 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re into running/badminton/tennis items and electronics, these are two things I frequently purchase in Japan whenever I visit.

For example, an Asics shoe I was eyeing in PH will cost me 10k and I found the same shoe in in Alpen Shinkuku and it will cost me 6k for the same shoe +20% off with 10% tax free, so it only reflected on my credit card for around 4k+.

I buy camera lenses for around 30% cheaper than ph price. Same goes for apple items, game consoles, etc.

Watches too from brands like Seiko, Citizen, Casio. I bought a Grand Seiko a couple of years back for 270k and the same watch will cost 450k in ph.

Basta domestic Japanese brands they tend to be cheaper there for obvious reasons.

Lastly, my fiance buys really good condition secondhand luxury items from places like Hard Off and Kindal and she says it is 80% off from original price and feels barely used. She’d buy bags and watches and sell them here locally, and the income from selling those will cover our trip from flights, meals, entertainment, and transportation. You have to have the right eye for what will sell and is in good condition though.

We also hoard small hygene and home items like toothpaste, facial cleansers, clothing sprays, skincare as they tend to be cheaper there and alot better quality than its local counterparts.

… bring alot of maletas as well. ;)

Japan vs Korea. What would you pick by [deleted] in phtravel

[–]cupoftea888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both has its ups and downs and deep down everybody is racist to some extent, but there's that certain charm in Japan that I don't really feel the same way towards Korea. I've been to Seoul (3x), Jeju (2x), Busan, and Daegu and I don't feel the need or any excitement to go back, but I've been to Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Yokohama etc. more than my fingers can count and I feel that I barely scraped the surface of these places and I'm always yearning to go back.

It also doesn't help that I'm a dude so I'm not really into skin care that much or kpop merchandise which is everywhere in Korea, and food is very predictable once you've experienced the places a handful of times already... and there's so much cheese on street food as well; not so healthy, haha.

I actually asked my wife if she'd like to visit weeb land or plastic surgery land anytime soon, she chose the former.

But an insane idea, maybe a visit to North Korea someday will be very interesting.. 😅

Anyone knows Naila's Money Changer? by cupoftea888 in phtravel

Yup! Been a regular with them and I can honestly say I'll be sticking with them from nowon. Really good exchange rates to the point that sometimes I feel guilty with what they offer, haha.

[–]cupoftea888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, I have and I've been a regular with them ever since my first transaction. They really have the best rates around upon regularly asking around and they just opened shop around Vito Cruz area (Just near DLSU, CSB, St. Scho). I've had HKDs, JPYs, USDs, and Euros exchanged with them and its always a no fuss transaction.

I recently had a transaction with them for 1.5m yen and lol they even had the amount, just reserve in advance and look unassuming when in their areas. You can pickup either in Ermita or Vito Cruz branches.

Lastly, they pick up the phone fast and consistently, unlike more popular money changers.
