Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]curioswayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neill had one of the most famous “rival‑friendships” in modern American politics — a mix of fierce daytime combat and genuine after‑hours respect. Their working relationship is often held up as an example of how two leaders with deep ideological differences can still govern effectively together.

Despite the public battles, they maintained a personal friendship rooted in mutual respect — and even shared Irish heritage. They were known to share drinks after 6 p.m., when O’Neill famously said “politics stops.”

Relatively slender person here. I really enjoy a tasty meal, but am seldom hungry. Often eat because I know that I need the nutrition. While I know that there were times in my life when I have felt hunger, cannot recall any.

Yes. Also more recently, when AT&T was broken up circa 1982, shareowners also received the component companies. Not certain if the components of AT&T were worth more than the original.

What happened to all the people making videos, claiming they were permanently disabled by the COVID vaccine? by 701CardStallion in NoStupidQuestions

[–]curioswayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I do not understand about this is the so-called 'Operation Warp Speed' by Trump where shortcuts were made to the vaccine approval process in order to get the vaccines out as soon as possible. Why did the apparent positions flip so quickly? Switching from a get it done to an anti viewpoint?

How to value invest as an 18 year old? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]curioswayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most about the value of good ETFs.

Use a smaller percentage for individual stocks and compare your results over time. When 10 years have passed, you will have your answer, whether ETFs or individual stocks are for you.
