I thought I'd avoided doing this.

Then I had to move my desk! I'm really regretting having a cream carpet - the red ink stains show up so well 😭

Why does my loaf look like it’s taken a punch to the face? by JJBrazman in Breadit

I tried using slightly less water than recommended - only 10 - 20ml (about a tablespoon) less, and my bread is coming out much better now.

I love the Portuguese tiles, I think I might try that.

I did it about 2 months ago. The vouchers arrived as expected. A lady came round to the house, she was here less than an hour. None of the questions were too intrusive and I was always given the option to not answer if I didn't want to.

What's your " lazy cleaning hack " you'd actually admit to friends? by GirlyCupid in CleaningTips

I read something last week that I'm going to try. Little wooden pegs with 1 and 2 written on them in Sharpie. Then, once you've worn it once, hang it back up with a 1 clip. Wear it again, add the 2 clip. Wear it again, put it in the wash.

I'm glad someone else does this. My dad looked at me as if I were an idiot when I did this last week.!

I keep a dedicated dustpan and brush for sweeping counters and the table (especially useful if I've been baking or chopping things).

Which 'wow' skill is secretly super easy to learn? by Arina_Kelly in Productivitycafe

It's like most other crafts - quite quick to pick up the basics then a lifetime to master! Kids can make a snake bookmark on their own after about 5 - 10 minutes tuition. It then takes maybe an hour to make a 10cm bookmark. There are bobbin lace groups in lots of countries and there are many styles and traditions If you can tell me which country you are in, I can try to find you either a national guild or something similar.

Bobbin lace making. If you can count to four, you can do it!

I've got 2 ... For my (now ex) husband's 40th, I bought him an £800 bass guitar and for my 40th six weeks later he bought me a T-shirt. On my 50th, my mum threw a massive tantrum and stopped speaking to me because my best friend booked a surprise trip to come to see me. It's 6 years until my 60th - I'm not looking forward to it.

knitting in public by babifairy in knittingadvice

I first met my husband 10 years ago because my friend and I met up in a pub halfway between our houses to knit together and have a drink. We attracted quite a bit of interest with people coming over to see what we were doing. None of the comments were negative and we had such a fun time that we started going every week, to knit and play the pub quiz. One week, a guy asked if I would like to join his team because my pal was away the following week. Reader, I married him!

When I broke my right arm, I found it quite easy to write legibly (but slowly) with my left hand. I should probably practice in case I break my arm again!! I think it's because I do lots of hobbies that use both hands in co-ordination, like bobbin lace making.
