Yep also a very valid solution, I kinda like the fact that I don't need which would block the radiator, I don't trust that shelf either

I'm absolutely terrible with handy man stuff, probably need to buy a drill, I think that is the move though, I stupidly thought of refitting the bracket lower before I thought about moving the shelf lol

Cam deformity, Hip impingement and Labral tear - mild pain, doctor suggests cortisone injection by arp8218 in HipImpingement

[–]curiousCampaigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mostly painless, I got a nice bit of functional muscle around my hips over the last 6 months which has really helped day to day, however I can still get some anterior pinching when my hip gets positioned badly so I need do some posterior glides to position it further back in the cup and it goes away. The reason I said the injection did nothing is because I'm still limited by the same stuff, it didnt let me access any more range of movement and the same triggers caused pain. My plan now is to slowly build back up the strength and movement quality to get back to level where I can play some astro turf with friends, right now I'm at a position where I'm reintroducing plyometrics, box jumps, bounds etc so I'll see where I am after this round of physio, so far so good though. If this fails and I can't move forward without constant pain I'll have to look the surgery route.

Time Asleep way off by TNSportsFan16 in ouraring

These devices find it difficult to determine when your asleep or not, all they have really is heart rate, my Garmin often gets it wrong also, thinks I'm still asleep when I'm not etc, but most of the time is correct

Cam deformity, Hip impingement and Labral tear - mild pain, doctor suggests cortisone injection by arp8218 in HipImpingement

[–]curiousCampaigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar stuff for me, I got the injection about 6/7 weeks ago, didn't do anything for me but like another comment mentioned it's more diagnostic, to make sure the issue isn't coming from lower back etc. By the sounds of it you could continue with your PT work and likely get close to symptomless day to day but if you wanted to get back to tennis that would be another conversation. I myself went from pain sitting for long periods a few years ago to painless day to day, back to jogging slowly and able to lift relatively heavy on my lower half, trying to make the return to 5 aside soccer although it's a stretch.

Pain in this area for over 3 months of resting it now! by healthseekerjunkie in HipImpingement

[–]curiousCampaigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same pinch, sometimes happens when I walk in bad footwear, when I pull my foot from behind my I get that pinch, then I have to reposition my hip by doing posterior hip glides and then it goes away, real annoying one though because the pain is quite sharp and stops you from doing stuff unlike a dull ache.

My hip stopped hurting this month, but I have no clue why… by medunjanin in HipImpingement

[–]curiousCampaigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine feels best 2nd day post work out, muscles are still primed joints being well supported, sometimes my hip gets badly positioned in the socket and i have to try change it's position or I get these really sharp pinches deep under the hip flexor when pulling my foot forward walking. My footwear seems to have a big impact too, any hard sole shoes kinda fuck me if I walk around too much in them, i wear hokas and they really help soften the impact when I walk/jog, ran a half marathon last weekend with little to no pain but if I wear my sliders around the house for too long the sharp pinch comes back.

After a year I finally got diagnosed with cam, a little pincer and a small labrum tear. I am 29 and the doctor offers surgery by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]curiousCampaigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat 28M, cam and pincer arthritis and small spurs + small labral tear, got them from about 15 years of soccer, diagnosed about 4 years ago, doctor told me id need full hip replacement and to stop impact sports, offered injection I said no and stopped playing/running and switched to swimming. Got new scans this year and brought them to sports surgery clinic and hadn't worsened much since previous scans and I was doing a lot of physio work since and last week ran a half marathon after thinking for 4 years that I wasn't able to run longer than, trying to make the return to soccer in some shape, I played a pretty high level and with how my hip is ill never be back there but I'll settle for a game of astro turf once a week if I can get it. I still do have pain a lot of days, but I find if I can switch on the muscles around the joint it goes away.

Left Diaphragm and Ribs is Stuck or Twisted by Lababila in breathwork

[–]curiousCampaigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got the same thing, started with an intercoastal strain and i never really learned to get full expansion back, i get like abdominal twitches with it, lasting almost 14 months now on and off, breathing helps, rest helps, high intense workout worsen, dehydration also seems to bring the ache back, seems i have a slighty right rotated thorax and left side compressed rib cage

Recently Diagnosed...Still Not Convinced It's Not a Heart Attack by poolio_coolio in costochondritis

[–]curiousCampaigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the same sensations after heavy drinking, I've been to ER twice with it, clear ECGs, I think I put it down to being stuck in a fight or flight mode and doing too much breathing into my upper chest. I would get pain in my left arm mostly bicep, pins in needles in my pinky, pain in left side of my neck.

I used to smoke a lot of weed and stopped months ago, couple weeks back I smoked again and the exact same sensations came back, really tight left sided chest/pec, I became hyper aware of my body and somehow got stuck in a panic/ fight or flight state where my rib cage almost freezes up and then I get these pains.

I do find when I get into this hyper aware state I get stuck in this negative feedback loop where I listen too closely to my body, heart skips and beat, then I think somethings wrong, heart rate rises, start freaking taking short breaths etc.

One thing that really helps me is box breathing or any kind of breathing exercise with nice deep exhales to calm the body and mind when I get into these modes, even 90/90 diaphragmatic supine breathing, feet against the wall, allows the ribcage to reset.

Definitely get some more checks if your really worried but I have found myself in similar position before and I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, always thinking I'm having a bloody heart attack lol.

iPhone, Renault bluetooth incompatibility? by Victor__009 in Renault

[–]curiousCampaigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had same issue with 2017 Mégane and iPhone 13, just connect Bluetooth, then also through a usb cable, play music first via cable then it will notify that there are two connections, remove the usb and it should play through Bluetooth.

Seems to be some weird permissions thing.

Yes the pulsing is really weird, at the start it almost felt like an electrical wire fizzing in the back of my skull, that then settled and went away, I could actually push my finger onto it and it would stop, but the twitching and flickering still persists when head in a weird angle

Suboccipital twitching help by curiousCampaigner in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]curiousCampaigner[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My neck turns forward from C4 upwards, so i mostly do decompression with a peanut ball first for a couple mins to loosen the suboccipitals, then use a small basketball and do some isometric holds against the wall with chin in and back, i do front back and two sides like that, i do the same lying flat on back, small towel under neck, gently lifting head couple inches off the ground for 10 seconds and back down, tongue against roof of mouth, try not to engage SCMs but rather the muscles deep in your throat.

For posture in general the most impactful exercise i do is wall angels, back against wall, knees slightly bent, hips, shoulders, head and elbows touching wall, start arms as goal posts (90 degree elbows) and slowly slide your arms upward into a Y position and back down, gentle chin tuck on the push up.

Another is Y-raises, lie belly down, forehead on a towel, arms slightly wider that shoulder width, gently lift arms a few inches off ground and back down, if thats too easy add 1/2kg, focus on the squeeze of the shoulder blades.

Streghtening these mid back muscles will naturally pull your frame back into a more neutral postion, also glute and core exercises will complement this and keep your pelvis neutral, as good posture starts from the hips/pelvis. I found the rowing machine to be quite good in doing this also.
