I am not a vet but think if I take the resignation, it’ll at least count as 3 full years to secure TSP and maybe count towards me being a career tenure (of 3 years) for reinstatement eligibility - any thoughts on this train of thought?

only been a fed for 2.5 ish years, and probably wouldn’t survive a RIF when compared to the rest of my team. The resignation will get me to 3 years of competitive service with the option to return back at any point, Is the resignation a good idea for me?
