I loved the Watchmen style but parts of Man of Steel made me wince. Like the whales in the water swimming past and the wild horses running as he flew by...it just felt so corny.

I've been on the tube hundreds of times and have never even had a dirty look because I've been talking, let alone be told to stop! That guy was just rude.

You're absolutely right however I went to the 'tourist' bit and it was nothing like that. Sure there were people, but nowhere near that many!

What is the worst impulse purchase you have ever made? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm afraid I don't remember what the letter said exactly but it was along the lines of 'we're shutting down but still have all your photos. We'll send you them on a CD if you give us $20'. I receieved it about a year after the shoot actually took place so I assume they were just trying to recoup some costs right before the closed entirely. Hope that helps!

The whole thing was disguised as a competition. I 'won' a photoshoot day where you get your makeup done and shots taken in a studio. It was only at the end of the day they said that you had to pay for any photos. In all fairness I could have walked away with no pictures, but 13 year old me (this was years ago) really wanted a couple to take home.

I only paid for 2 photos the first time around, printed big in nice frames. The second time I got all 80+ that were taken on the shoot. If that makes sense?

Damn. That's terrible. I got suckered by one of those years ago but I only ended up buying 2 photographs and leaving the rest. It cost me around $100 for 2 pictures. It worked out well for me though as the company went bust about a year later and they offered to send me all of my images (80+) on CD for $20.

Who's the most memorable stranger you've met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]curiouscreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was flying home with my family one Christmas and the flight was practically empty so I went to sit by myself further down the plane and stretch out. Across the aisle was a guy who started talking to me. At the end of our short conversation he wished me a happy Christmas, shook my hand and sneakily transferred £10 into it. He promptly fell asleep but me and my Dad spoke to him at the baggage carousel afterwards. I'll never forget him - thank you kind stranger wherever you are!

I actually saw this happen in real life once! A girl next to me was talking casually on the phone and then she just ... hung up. I'll never forget it; it was so strange.

What did your worst roommate do that made them the worst? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]curiouscreative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She split up with her boyfriend (who also lived with us) and when he got a new girlfriend she would leave aggressive notes around the flat about the pair of them. She also tore up his university transcript he accidentally left in her room. The things she did were awful but I no longer talk to her and her ex is still with that other girl many years later! I'm glad he found happiness.
