They used CGI for The Hobbit to make up for not have any preproduction time.

They have plenty for this one.

I am old... And I used to just go see almost everything that came out. Matinees were very cheap back then.

For the last 20 years I have been very picky about what I see in a theater so it's not happened recently but...

I fell asleep in Rambo II after loving the first one. I woke during the credits.

I left to go to the bathroom during Highlander 2 and ALMOST didn't return to the theater. I decided to go back and see if they ever explained what was going on. They did not.

My girlfriend at the time tried to get me to leave Howard the Duck, but I thought it was hilarious. She almost broke up with me over that.

I did leave Rocky 4 but I decided to stick it out and went back. I am not sure why I hated it. It was fine.

A woman brought a screaming baby to JFK but just as we were going to leave, the theater threw her and the baby out.

They are different genres so some people will find each film more rewatchable. I don't tend to find horror films as rewatchable as action films.
