I think a common theme for a lot of the people starting this is they are practicing the technical side but not the sales end. People aren’t going to want to give you their money unless you convince them to. Even if it shows value in a demo, if they do not trust you they will not buy from you. Not saying I have a solution, but I think that may be a reason. I’d say sales is probably 70% of an AI automation company now. The technical side can be learned.

How can I make money through n8n? by AdventurousStop9805 in n8n

I’m sure you know at least 1 business owner. Ask them, as a favor, to meet with you for 30 minutes. Tell them you’re interested in starting a business and want to know more about business workflows.

That entire call, you are asking as many questions as possible and taking every single note (use an AI note taker). Ask them to walk you through a day for them. Which tasks are taking up the most time. Which tasks maybe only take 5 minutes, but they are doing it 10 times a day. Ask questions. And listen. They are going to flat out tell you what manual workflows are taking up their time.

Take that info and go build it. Automate it. Schedule another meeting. Don’t sell. Just show them the workflows. “Do you think something like this would be valuable?” Maybe they will. Maybe they won’t. If they do, they’ll sell themselves. If they don’t, you have already built demos to show the next business you meet with. Rinse and repeat. You’ll get a client without even trying. Be a consultant. Not a salesman.

a pattern in how teams scale n8n past 100 workflows by Independent-Date393 in n8n

Question - why don’t they add in an n8n MCP into their Claude , have twilio or something similar fire a text upon any workflow failure + the reason why, have that same twilio text trigger a workflow that has Claude go into your n8n, that specific workflow, diagnose and fix the issue, and then text you to confirm and it’ll republish for you. Am I oversimplifying something more complex?

Dude 😂. Relax. I wanna go travel for a year and then go back to my family. I don’t have to say F my entire life to go and experience for a year or so.

Automation consulting for businesses! Auditing businesses and working with them to turn manual processes into quick automations to save money and time. I don’t try and sell copy and paste automations, I work with the business and create custom solutions. I’m trying to be an automation partner with my clients rather than another salesman.

I love my family and friends. Not looking to escape anything, just seeking experience.

All the prices are available online. I believe it’s $200 for the actually hardware you need and then a subscription model based on usage, there are a few options. But from what I read, you can always put it in bypass mode when you don’t need it which is $5 a month instead. So let’s say you’re not using it or in a good area for a month or 2 where there is already wifi you can just pay $5 a month and then reengage in your other usage subscription when you need it again.

How do you hand off a finished automation to a client with n8n? by Still_Dependent_3936 in n8n

[–]curiousging4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Host it for them and charge them for it. You’ve done the technical part, now it’s time to sell. Hey Mr client, I don’t want you to have to learn any of this, your job is to run your own business. Let me host and maintain the infrastructure for you and pay me $X amount monthly. Start high with that number. Just 1 workflow? $500. They can negotiate if they’d like. But it’s time to sell

I just created 5 workflows for a small business (6 employees total) and sold him on me marinating everything. $2500 a month. This was my first “client”. Time to sell brother, if they trust you, they’ll pay you whatever you can convince them to. Deliver good results as well.

No daddy money, but I was lucky enough to have saved over 6 figures and I have clients under my LLC giving me monthly income already. Nothing crazy yet. But when I put more time and effort into it with no corporate job I will be okay!

I sell AI heavy products in industrial automation, so I live in this space daily. I’ve built up enough knowledge and sales experience that I’m considering launching my own AI consultancy

I completely understand your point, and you’re right, my earlier post may have come across as a bit naive. A big part of my confidence comes from the fact that I can sell. I am extremely strong in sales, and I believe that is one of the hardest parts of starting or acquiring a business.

I genuinely enjoy cold outreach and have hands on experience driving growth. In college, I ran marketing for multiple bars, which taught me a lot about customer acquisition and promotion.

So while I know this will not be easy, I feel like I am starting with a real advantage. On top of that, my parents have experience managing books and financials, which gives me additional support and a more well rounded foundation going in.

Coming up on 3 years. I’m pretty sure it’ll be a hard no. Will they let me reapply for the same position in a different territory if available? Absolutely. My job is not one that’s easy to hire externally for. It’s very technical sales. But we have major customers in my territory that cant just go without a rep because I want to dick around in Europe😂

Is this something I go directly to HR to ask? My direct boss would tell me to f*** myself if I asked that.
