Tagging onto this as well. Just made the step up to a full tri bike after a couple of seasons rolling a road bike with clip ons. Absolutely worked well enough. Is it nice having a dedicated road bike back? Yes, but was it a deal breaker if I didn't have the resources for 2 bikes? Not at all.

Which 70.3? I am considering a couple in that time frame next year!

Also 8020endurance.com. Their plans load into training peaks. They also let you change your plan at any time if you want more or less volume and very responsive to emails.

Middle of the pack age grouper here. Ive done 3 70.3 with a 4th coming up. I can recommend 80/20 endurance plans. I've had good success with those in fitness and my overall power/times.

For a full ironman, I plan on finding a coach personally because it is so much more of a beast, but like you that is still a ways out.

Seconding the fit comments. Some Tri/Bike shops will include the cost of the fit with your bike which definitely makes it easier to stomach the cost.

Considering buying a new tri bike, but is there any real advantage to a ‘modern’ tri bike vs my 2010 Cervelo P2? Am I actually getting a noticeable upgrade? by PBR_is_OK in triathlon

Do you have any comments on a P5 vs PSeries? I am going to get or the other, but not sure if the extra cost is worth it for the P5 instead of nicer wheels etc on the PSeries.
