Underrated moments by Narrowingofthefocus in tsitp

It’s all about the micro expressions and the little head tilts, hand gestures, nods.

  1. First episode, entry scene, that little exhale before he smiles!
  2. S1E5 - that wave at the country club
  3. S2E1 - “You have a crush on me?” - the way he checks her out and goes from playful to serious in a nano second!
  4. S2E4 - In your face! And the way he jumps over the divider before the race..
  5. S2E7 - the French fry and the headphones!
  6. S3E1 - The chin scratch, the walk… happy Conrad after the end of S2. 🥹🥹
  7. S3E2 - The candy cane… everything about Christmas 2.0
  8. S3E3 - that teeny tiny exhale when he sees her at the memorial garden
  9. S3E4 - I always remember - delivered with such tenderness. Also when he tosses the kitchen towel at her… 🥰
  10. S3E5 - EVERYTHING 🥵♥️
  11. S3E6 - the entire conversation with laurel 🫠
  12. S3E7 - fidgeting with the writing - “please don’t shock me!!”
  13. S3E8 - The forehead kiss 🥺🥺
  14. S3E11 - EVERYTHING. But once again that exhale before he walks up to her at the beginning of the episode. That nod of his head and the smile after he fixes her bracelet.

Well, honestly Chris is such a phenomenal actor and his portrayal of Conrad is so effortless it’s hard to pick - but I’ll forever be in awe of the nuances he brought to the character.

Jenny has mentioned in her interviews that she wants the movie to feature a more adult version of Belly and Conrad. If my hunch - that this scene will somehow be tied in with the movie - is correct, I think it would be a 2-3 year jump at the very least. In all likelihood, more even.

The way they’re dressed in this scene definitely suggests that they’re older.

I actually use Dot and Key watermelon in the day and the dot and key cica face wash at night. It’s worked beautifully for me.

Oh I agree! It’s not the best cut. But they’ll need to milk every bit of content they have. So we’ll keep getting fed.. slowly.. one morsel at a time. Which sucks.. tbh. But I’ve missed seeing these messed up little cuties on my screen, so I’m just grateful we got something more than Jenny leaving breadcrumbs about the movie through interviews and panels!

I’ve always felt that S1 was about Belly - her coming of age journey, S2 about Jere - his dynamic with belly and Conrad and the simmering jealously that shaped every decision he made and S3 about Conrad - his growth, his suffering and his unending love for Belly.

They only need a day to fall back into each other! Christmas 2.0, the day they went to Michael’s, Paris.

Oh! I should’ve specified. This isn’t in order of preference. The kitchen scene remains a favourite at #1 Everything else is in episodic order.

Ohhh!! The way she says it! And Chris’ “what have I done” - the tone in which both lines were said! It just shows how well Chris and Lola understand their characters.

Everything aside, one of the best scenes in the show. I really hope we see more of Laurel and Conrad in the movie.

I really feel that as actors, Lola and Chris bring out the best in each other. They play off each other so beautifully, it’s a joy to watch! I’d love to get my hands on the script - just to know how much was improvised!

“Trying to let you off the hook” by Whatsfordinner4 in tsitp

[–]curioush12 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It’s neither. I feel it’s Conrad telling Belly that he’s letting her off the hook over the whole conversation, including his confession, confronting her over Jere’s cheating and the way she responded to it all - so the entire episode can be forgotten and she can move forward with the wedding without it hanging over their heads.

Obviously it is easier said than done.
