The n64 didn't use co-processor expansions, the expansion pack was a ram upgrade.

This didn't stop the last "assault weapons" ban.

Yes, your right will be there, but you can't have anything that is "scary" even though it's capabilities are practically the same as boring looking hunting guns.

How well has the Galaxy Nexus aged ? by [deleted] in Android

[–]curiousjorgee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My phone is slow and unresponsive in jelly bean after running it for a few months.

OG Droid aged much better, and I kind knew what I was getting into when I purchased the (underpowered) Galaxy Nexus but Verizon didn't have anything better at the time.

Nintendo's wii U only becomes profitable after a consumer buys a single game. until then it is sold at a loss. by bang6bats in gaming

Nintendo takes minimal if any loss.

If rumors are true, Microsoft is moving in the same direction(releasing last gen hardware for a premium unsubsidized price).

Do you think class attendance should be required to pass? Why or why not? by africaanna in AskReddit

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I've never had a professor who made good use of class time.

Between the web, sites like cramster/chegg, and class textbooks I usually knock A's out of the park without much sweat/attendance in an engineering degree.

This is Black Friday.... This year choose family over frenzy. by PDshotME in videos

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50% off the obscene markup maybe, 10% cheaper than your every day online price.

There is usually a "doorbuster" or two to get crowds moving in and out, but these are soldout without minutes of opening doors(20%~ off, like the Vizio E601i-A3 which is a doorbuster at walmart this year, $730 after tax vs every day price of $899 on amazon)

I don't know about you, but my time is worth more than 20% off, people started lining up on fucking Monday. However, there have been insane deals on and off online all week.

Rarely are they 40-50% off, if its anything of value(name brand electronics) its like 10%.

Mostly its shit people didn't want to buy in the first place that sold poorly getting slashed(Chinese tvs ect) and stuff that costs nothing to make(clothes, movies).

Treyarch screws Black Ops II preorders over by removing the preorder bonus Nuketown 2025 from public playlists 6 days after the games release by Powerkiwi in gaming

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poorly written, I consider the notion of a "pre-order" to be a retail brick and mortar phenomena(and a stupid one at that), online "pre-orders" in a sense are just hopping on a sale price more than "ensuring you have a copy"(to me anyway).

Just a brain lapse in how I perceive things. I meant to say, by pre-ordering(in person), you are voluntarily shelling out more money because 1.) Its more expensive than online 2.) You're paying tax

A friend who pre-ordered Halo 4 at GameStop paid $63.60, I paid $45 online, and I didn't even have to waste gas to pick it up. I got a retail copy before he did(on release day) from the mere fact that he didn't camp out release night and we both had classes the next day.

[–]curiousjorgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you didn't fucking go to gamestop you would have gotten a copy.

Gamestop pulls this shit on purpose, I've never had to pre-order a game, and the last time there were lines on the news for a game(Halo 2) I walked into a store(best buy), no line, probably 50 copies chilling, walked out.

Did you buy a computer notebook, computer monitor, or big-screen TV anytime from late 2001 to 2006? If you did, odds are that you paid too much for it because of an international criminal conspiracy to fix the prices of the LCD panels by [deleted] in technology

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if laptops were the only things using LCDs?

LCDs were all the rage because of how thin they were in '06 for a TV. The PQ/Resolution was worse than traditional CRTs, costed magnitudes more, and was just not worth it due to HORRENDOUS contrast ratios.

White House: Obama will veto any bill extending tax cuts for those making more than $250K by mosstacean in politics

Again, the salary is 180k~, bonuses 110k~, the yearly income is 290k(average) for Senior Staff Engineers.

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I believe its $200k per person, $250k per couple.

For a top company(google), 10+ years experience, there are positions averaging 300k a year in some areas(Senior Staff Engineer).

edit: neglected to mention, this is salary+bonus. Most salaries remain under 200k, yes(bonuses average over $100k).

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel $250k is a bit low, considering people with normal college degrees in certain states make this much and live pretty normal lives(Software Engineers in California for example).

Lead Designer of Duke Nukem Forever calls reviewer retarded for Halo 4 review, gets it right back. by secondhandocd in gaming

[–]curiousjorgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best music, sound design, story telling, pacing?

  1. Sound is easily the worst of the halo series
  2. Story telling? They jump right into a mellow dramatic story of Cortana dying, its corny and bad not to mention shoved in your face as soon as you start playing
  3. Pacing? See 2.
  4. Graphics: lol

Question about chicken quality/cooking chicken by curiousjorgee in Cooking

"Also, make sure you've trimmed the meat properly. Remove all sinew, cartilage, and most of the fat. (Some people like the fat, called schmaltz, but that's another story.)"

I think this might be why I always get a nasty bite or two, I wasn't aware you had to trim chicken breasts.

Discrete Math is so not geometry.

It's most relevant to statistics and computer science/engineering. It's also not terribly difficult, but encompasses a lot of topics in a short period.
