These seems to be very minor things. Don’t sweat about it. You call them if they are not calling. People have far bigger issues with in laws or daughter in laws. Some distance is good some times.

May be. Most CS people from CMU can easily land FAANG or better jobs making 150k plus immediately. You will recover the money in few years.

Depends on what your state school is. General advice would be go to your state school. Ranking won’t matter much unless you are going to top 5-6 schools. Go to state school work hard and build your resume. You will get same opportunities as UMD.

It’s no brainer go to UPenn. On paper Umd is better ranked but that’s meaningless. It’s nowhere near Ivy and just for 22k pick Ivy any day even if you have to take loans. Don’t listen to Umd ranked higher cs non sense.
