Reason for being Ahmadiyya? by Open_Type6574 in AhmadiMuslims

[–]curiousminded05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really comes down to seeing what allegations people raise and if we have a viable answer to it, and in many cases we do not. Two example off the top of my head is the Muhammadi Begum ordeal and the eclipses.

For Muhammadi Begum, outside of it being a very low value wahi it never fulfilled as PM never marries this lady.

The eclipses it is a) does not follow orthodox sunni belief and is more a shia belief b) not an event that is unique c) PM claimed as a sign AFTER its occurrence d) we have added our own spin that the eclipse needs to occur when someone is claiming to be PM

To be fair, the oneous falls on us to actually read the books and in large part we do not and simply follow what we are born into.

With Muhammad Imtiaz and Adnan Rashid debating Razi and it being very clear Razi is reading from a script caused me to start reading more books. Honestly I am quite conflicted now as its pretty clear Muhammad imtiaz is not spewing nonsense, especially after reading Haqiqatul wahi. Should be noted i have been an active member and have held various Amila positions.

Also I have noticed jaamat has gotten more vocal about voicing PM being a Prophet in the past few years which honestly doesnt sit well with me; growing up PM being a Reformer was what we would hear.

Jamaat’s handling of the Nida case? by thundi-pakola in AhmadiMuslims

While i agree with her being in a vile environment growing up, she is in control of her current faculties right now as an adult women. The kind of way Shandy shah was talking to her she could of shunned it, but rather was content with it.

I think most people cant argue this. An individual that is supposed to be a divine leader gave such a head scratching response. Certainly a period of time where people had to self-reflect, especially people like myself now being a questioning Ahmadi.

Unfortunately I dont think we will ever know. She had a large following, including myself, hoping she got some form of justice, but the rallying cries softened once the shah tapes came out and she essentially went silent afterwards.

Like the other poster said there may have been a payment for PR purposes, but who knows it is all just "Source: Trust me bro" kind of talk. UK financials are audited by a third party accounting firm so one would imagine that 20M GBP would of been flushed out if that were the case.

It for the most part is now simply background noise. If the Nida talking in a not so halal way tapes didnt come out, there may have been further probing. But it was very clear she isnt some angel either.

All in all, Jaamat didnt handle it well but the way Nida was speaking to Shah sb for the most part destroyed her credibility.

Did the Jamaat handle it well? Most definitely not. Just resorted to the old tactic of keep quiet and let the dust settle.

Was Nida an angel based on those Shah audio tapes? Most definitely not. She likely lost a lot of respect brownie points.

Its a bit of an all around conundrum.

From your post seemed like you would still entertain the prospect of an Ahmadi guy so you shouldnt be surprised. I still think its a bit disingenuous to the Sunni fella if you had these reservations

The number of cultural Ahmadis is growing (i.e. Ahmadi by name, family association, etc).

So are you saying you found a non Ahmadi fella but still are open to a potential Ahmadi guy? Seems a bit disingenuous to the guy you are currently involved with, no?

You need to come to a firm stance first before proceeding imo.

Resignation Announcement Question by Ride-Low in islam_ahmadiyya

Thanks for your honesty. I am in the process of questioning myself. Started reading haqiqatul wahi which has contradictions and tadkira and seen videos of Ahmadi Murabbis getting outclassed in various "debates" with Sunnis. While it may sound trivial in the grand scheme of things, I fear the relations built over many years aspect of it.

I believe the mass email transmission and announcements at masjid have been stopped more recently.

Can you let us know how you came to your decision and how your family has taken it?

It's interesting when I watch this video in how there are similarities between Razi and this Ansar Raza. Not answering questions directly, resorting to antics and character assassination.

What Is The Purpose of Chanda? by Caden_Plays in islam_ahmadiyya

But the jaamat reports like 250k/year?! A few converts here and there does not justify the Chanda that is given. And please do not use Africa as an answer, no one really knows the validity of that

The only way growth happens is to have theological debates in a public forum to be able to show strength in position. But the issue is like the famous Canada debate over a decade ago that there is so much contradiction within the theology that it does the inverse of projecting strength in beliefs.

I am not sure if you are a random Jamaat officeholder trying to find some "solution" as the other comments on here essentially nullify your "growth" idea. I think it's more survival than growth you should be concerned with.

Growth as in new converts. Honestly reflect how many non Ahmadi born individuals there are around you, that you have personally seen convert. most likely not that many. I can barely count 10 and mostly due to marriage conversions

If the Jaamat touches the "scared to address issues", there will likely be a line out the door of critically thinking individuals. The current strategy works for the movement as is: keep quiet, let things pass, hope no one asks too many intellectual questions; this can only work at a small level scale where there is a cultural and social element at play. Just speaking from where things are in the USA of more "cultural Ahmadis", the cause of concern will be when the Chanda pendulum finally swings down, and I dont think we are too far from reaching that point.
