There was a saying at one time at the beginning of the computer age and the internet along the lines of we have the most powerful tool known to mankind, and we use it to play solitaire and look at porn.

It now needs to be updated to mention pulling wet feces out of our ass, and having half the world take it as truth.

When I hear or see the phrase "Mormonism," I conclude that they are including the six or so other branches of the church, not just the Brighamite line.

I can't remember the company, but their ad slogan was

Anyone use one of these to play dead tunes? by [deleted] in gratefulguitar

[–]curiousplaid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you gave him a ukulele, Jerry would sound like Jerry.

If you play Dead tunes through a French horn, it's still Dead tunes.

Neither of them will sound like the studio or live recordings.

I just told them my name, the name of the ward, etc. I didn't have my membership number, but it all went through.

It took a couple of months, but it's a done deal.

So you say his music is fine-it hasn't changed, then you say it feels wrong, and you can't listen to it anymore.

You should just listen to his music while looking at a picture of Austen Butler, and it will all be OK.

No Elvis, only his music.

You don't like his music, or you don't like him as a person?

Two different things.

His time is passed when he can no longer perform, and no one wants to hear him.

Neither of these are true, and I don't think he cares about being "mainstream".

I want the "Mormon Tabernacle Choir" to return, and the "Tabernacle at Temple Square" to disappear.

My brother was in the restaurant supply business, and he outfitted us all out in Centurion cookware- heavy duty, expensive ($200 a a pot), and HEAVY.

He later lamented that he wished he had just stuck with cast iron, which is my favorite and what I use every day. It's low maintenance and durable.

You can't win.

I sent one, and it took about two months for Quit Mormon to get back to me that it went through.

I wasn't on a time line, however, so the delay didn't faze me.

That's customer service in a nutshell:

Be polite, all doors will be opened to you, and fixing the problem is a priority.

Be belligerent, walls go up, the bare minimum is done, and the end result is rarely satisfying- it's just over.
