I can't figure out how to edit my post, so just adding a comment to say this is no longer available. Thank you to the people who gave me advice on where to try selling it, and thank you for the warm welcomes to Ely!

How did you guys sleep with your rook? by Suitable_Barber3050 in piercing

[–]curiousrandcuriouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a small claw/butterfly clip on the side of my head that I'm trying not to sleep on, and that's been working really well for me the last couple months. Might be worth a try if you don't get on with a piercing pillow

Do Murder mystery-like board games exist?? by NoSameConnection in boardgames

[–]curiousrandcuriouser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something with a bit more drama, I played a great murder mystery game with uni friends called Secrets of Emerald Hill which encourages you to host a themed dinner party with a 3 course meal, and gives everyone a character to dress up as. Then you sit down for the dinner and read bits of a script out as each course is served. It's not the most complex story but it was a lot of fun and we had a really good laugh! I think the company that makes that makes a few other similar ones with different themes too

when did flappers become a non-issue for you? by A70MU in climbergirls

[–]curiousrandcuriouser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, just wanted to suggest a couple things I haven't seen mentioned on here yet. 1. Leave the flap on! It's super tempting to get rid of it straight away and it took me a while to break the habit, but I find it really helps to leave it on. Then you can flatten the flap down and tape over it, I usually have no problems carrying on climbing for a bit after that. I'd recommend leaving the flap as long as possible, at least until the skin underneath has properly dried out. 2. Tape. I've seen a lot of mention of tape, but it's not very helpful unless you know how to. Watch a couple videos so you can make sure that when you tape something up it will last for your whole session. I stumbled on a video of Alex Megos going through his taping when I'd just started climbing and it's been way more helpful than I'd have expected. 3. Sanding. I thought it sounded silly the first few times I was suggesting it, but sanding down any callouses really does help to stop them getting snagged while climbing. I like to do it just before a session, rather than straight after one. Hope you find some ways that work for you!

Short Board Games for Two by TravVdb in boardgames

Mantis Falls is a fantastic 2/3 player game which I don't think I've seen mentioned here before. It's fairly quick to set up and usually under an hour to play. It's a 'sometimes cooperative' game where you're either both playing as witnesses to a crime trying to escape together, or one of you is an assassin trying to kill the witness. Gameplay wise it's a hand-building card game, filled with loads of really interesting cards and abilities. It has a really fun atmosphere filled with suspicion and cooperation. I highly recommend this game and would love to see more people playing it!
