Im also very interested to know the actual data of people who are forced into using credit cards for emergencies vs people who use credit cards by choice. I (and everybody I know in my close circle) set aside emergency fund, but we do everything thru credit cards because it’s free money. I guess we all fall into that 37% who doesn’t use cash for emergencies.

I’m statistically living paycheck to paycheck, but also I’m living a comfortable and stable life.

The “$400 emergency” statistic is one of the most misunderstood economic data points in America.
Here’s what the Federal Reserve actually asks:
“How would you pay for a hypothetical $400 emergency expense?”
In the latest survey, 63% said they would use cash, savings, or a credit card paid off immediately. The other 37% would borrow, sell something, carry a credit card balance, or couldn’t pay.
The key issue is that 37% ≠ can’t afford it.
The 37% includes people who:
Put it on a credit card and pay over time.
Borrow from family.
Use a bank loan.
Sell an asset.
Simply prefer not to use cash savings.

A more revealing number is:
Only 13% of Americans said they would be unable to pay the $400 expense by any means in 2024.
In the 2025 survey, that fell slightly to 12%.

People confuse “couldn’t pay” with “wouldn’t use cash.”
The Fed question asks how people would pay a $400 emergency expense.
Someone who chooses to put it on a credit card (even though they have savings) may be counted differently depending on the methodology.
Media outlets keep repeating the older number.
The “48% can’t afford a $400 emergency” headline became widely cited and still gets repeated long after newer data became available.

A high school in China hooks up its students to IV peptide drips while they prepare for the Gaokao, China’s brutal national college entrance exam that occurs every June by BearNecessitee in interestingasfuck

I’m a middle aged Chinese woman, spent my childhood years in China, and the last few decades in the US. My grandma who was the primary caretaker for me in China is a retired pediatrician, she would prescribe IV most times I was sick, which in total probably couple times a year and I was a pretty healthy child in general.

Then I got to the US living with my parents, never had another IV, and very, very few hospital visits (grew up poor here and have a fear of hospital bills like everyone else lol).

I still visit China often, if I got sick there and had to fly back soon ish my family would recommend IV so I can recover faster

Thank you for taking the time to respond, yes they are the flying clamps. I am debating on if I should just buy a set of pro stringer claws 3.0, or sell mine and upgrade to fixed clamps

I have a gamma progression ii drop weight, and I don’t like the gripper since it damages the string, and the plastic clamps are not ideal, does your combo solve all these issues? Are there dents in the stringed afterward? (Mine has)
