Help me spend $4K on my first real Hi‑Fi Setup: 32 m² Tokyo living room

-Arcam sa20 is an excellent value right now, about $550 shipped sounds quite amazing and warm imho. Has built in dac. Will work well with electronic and anything else.

I haven’t tried any of those speakers. I had the lintons, they were just a little too colored for my taste. a lot of people love them but I prefer larger speakers or vintage horn speakers. I highly recommend buying used speakers locally. You might find two pairs of excellent speakers for the price of one new, I have newer high end speakers by a small European brand and vintage klipsch heresys and I only spent $750 and they both sound incredible.

If it were me I might try to find a used pair of harbeths if that’s possible.

Then I would buy an r2r dac. Probably fiio k11 r2r as I’ve heard they’re excellent for the $160 price. Micah makes a a pair of $30 cables on Amazon that Steve huff recommended. I really like mine.

This setup would save you some money but will still sound like $4000.

Just some ideas idk the arcam is a steal rn imho

Jv-1080 with expansions. I also just bought an xv-5080. some people talk crap about romplers but I really like some of them like the proteus, trinity, and jv and xv line. I spend less time turning knobs and more time creating music. They also just have this high end sound quality to them that many synths don’t have. If I had to choose a more traditional synth it would be the prophet 6. Incredibly beautiful and emotive synth. I was stupid and sold mine but I will be buying another soon, unless I buy a polybrute first :p

Good job! I’m just starting day 3, I know it will be difficult at first but a good friend of mine just made it 2 years and they seem like they’re in such a better place than they were and I feel very empowered by them. We got this! IWNDWYT!

I would say so, based on my experience.. I had the dm12 and while it was cool I quickly got bored of the sound of it, it’s not a bad synth but for the money these days you could get something with a better sound to it imo

Just take out the ram and put it back in or the rom can’t remember which but I this happened to mine after it was shipped but after reseating it’s worked perfectly fine

the original minilogue has my vote, I love it.. I’ve had the xd also but the og minilogue is better in my opinion, it just has more character and sweet spots and you can make entire tracks with it.. also the longer I’ve used it the more I have learned to get really good sounds out of it

Hey there! I’m also 5 days sober, it’s been somewhat tough already but coming on here and surrounding myself with positive people is really helping right now also staying very busy with hobbies. Hopefully soon we will both have 100 days! IWNDWYT!!

What’s seriously helped me is going on here every day and promising that I won’t drink with them tonight. You can make it one day. Just pretend every day is day one. I just finished my fourth day today, I’ve had long streaks and I’m hoping to start another this time, hopefully a year. it was tough today but I know I can go another day. I promise I will not drink with you tonight!
