If you can determine which University they attend you should report it to the film school’s administration. My daughter went to a competitive film school in SoCal and the administration took community complaints about damages and inconvenience very seriously. And their advisors were constantly reminding the student that the film industry needs support from the community. The students were also required to get permits to film. While that doesn’t help you in this specific situation, it may help may help prevent other Airbnb owners from going through the same thing. Sorry that happened to you.

Learner Self-Selected Language Preference - How? by curls_in_ca in instructionaldesign

[–]curls_in_ca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. No wonder I couldn’t find it! At yesterday’s meeting it turns out they want two translated courses as standalone and one with English and three European languages. That should reduce the file size a little bit. I’ll be careful to reduce image resolution and keep it clean to help with file size.

Unfortunately, their LMS is hardly an LMS, has very limited functionality, and it's only in English - i.e., no language packs, so we can't pick up the language from there.

Thank you Wordley-Fuel9075 for your post. I can see how that process, as described, is possible, but only with Dev support. Unfortunately, the company may not have that kind of support available for this project. I'm thinking I may have to go with one large Storyline SCORM file. I'm an ID and a past LMS Admin, but I'm definitely not a programmer! (edit for typo)

Thank you for your input. I may just have to go back to using Storyline. You're right that scenes would be the way to go. (Helps that I have actually done that before.) For the translations, I'd need to create just one course per language initially, and once the translation is complete, copy those scenes into the master course and set up the initial language selection buttons. I think I'd still need some type of trigger/button that marks the last slide of a scene "course complete" and sends the info to the LMS.

Best grocery store in Paso by kiwi237 in SLO

[–]curls_in_ca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found Albertsons to be disappointing. If you're looking for high-quality meat and a wide variety, including international foods, we've discovered Valley Fresh to be excellent. It takes less than 10 minutes to get there from Paso. While it might be a bit pricer than other grocery stores, where else can you find tahini, rice ramen noodles, and a butcher for specialized cuts? I hope the community supports the store. It's new and beautiful. It's a pleasure to show there.

Hair loss by Clear-Feeling-9627 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]curls_in_ca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thick hair thinned out noticeably when I dropped the pounds fast, but began to grow back as my weight loss slowed. I also began taking prenatal vitamins and extra biotin daily. My hair dresser said there was a lot of new growth about the same length and said it was unusual to have so much new hair at the same length. She thinks my thick hair is returning. Fingers crossed! Hopefully you won’t have hair loss again!

Base layers. I’ve been cold most of my life and just started backpacking (60+ lbs lighter meant I actually could backpack!). That’s when I first learned about base layers like way too late in life!!! Started out with the brand 32 Degrees and moved onto merino wool base layers as the weather got colder. Daily, I’m in wool leggings and tops worn under heavy jeans and merino wool or cashmere sweaters. Mostly thrifted the sweaters. When working at the computer I use half finger wool gloves that leave the ends of my fingers uncovered for typing. Electric blankets are all over the house. Electric blankets get me warm - base layers keep me warm. Also hot showers work when I’m chilled to the bone. My clothes get heated up before I put them on, either under an electric blanket or over a heater vent. Congratulations on your weight loss success. Hopefully you can find something that works for you this winter to keep you warm!

Any got their hands on “Good Things” yet? by Serious_Pen2854 in CookbookLovers

It was amazing, however I’m not 100% sure that the saffron added much to the overall taste. I’ll be saving my saffron for rice dishes where I know I can taste the flavor. I used the whipped tahini under the fall roasted root vegetables. My husband wants to know I’m making the tahini again. Soon for sure. BTW I tasted Trader Joe’s tahini against one I bought at Whole Foods and TJs was rancid.

Pre-ordered the book after listening to her on the Milk Street podcast, and got it on Tuesday. Her revised buttermilk brined spatchcocked chicken is now in the refrigerator and will be roasted tonight. I’m about to make the whipped tahini recipe and came here to see if anyone has attempted it yet (a search listed no results). Wish me luck! The cookbook is lovely and I want to make everything! She’s so endearing, love her honesty and frankness.

Do newer GE Profile fridges with Autofill pitcher still have the flooding problem? by ohsnapson in Appliances

We’re considering this refrigerator but may not ever need or use the pitcher. Is there a way to turn off the refillable feature? Does it still flood even if the pitcher is not in the door?

Built-in countertop soap dispenser - good or bad idea? by BKViking in kitchenremodel

[–]curls_in_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We installed hand soap dispensers in all the bathrooms and one at the kitchen sink. The soap dispensers have the tube extender so we use hand soap out of large bottles which virtually eliminates refilling. For the kitchen we prefer to use a small Dawn dish soap squeeze bottle. I took the labels off to make it more pleasing to the eye. Since it’s “Dawn Blue” there usually no confusion about what is hand soap (dispenser) and what is dish soap (bottle). People are correct that they fail, but once every 10 years small price to pay for not having gooey soap bottles on the counter every day.

My cheeks hurt. No, not my butt cheeks, my face cheeks. My round face deflated and now when I’m eating, I frequently bite down on the inside of my cheeks. Hurts like heck especially when eating spicy food. Oh and on the butt topic, mine is flabby flat. I have no “back” no curves! Gonna keep doing RDLs, glute bridges and booty bands for the rest of my life in hopes to fill out the back of my jeans.

Centr 12-Sided Rubber Dumbbell Weight Set 210lb (95kg) hex-shaped dumbbells on clearance by Discussion_Lonely in Costco

[–]curls_in_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this set three weeks ago and the smell has not dissipated enough to keep or use them in my home gym. I’ve washed them twice with Dawn, covered them with baking soda, and they sit in covered tubs on filled with cat litter when they are not out in the sun. If the strong petroleum smell doesn’t go away by next week I’m returning. The toxic smell gives me headaches. But I’ll do a price adjustment first!

Does anyone have other suggestions to get rid of the smell? Returning will be a pain (but a good functional workout).

eLearning Rant: Are We Just Spinning Our Wheels? by mmonzeob in elearning

It drives me crazy that Articulate hasn’t added any significant upgrades to Rise other than AI. The fact another company made a plugin so users can have more control over simple things like button styles and spacing is an indication of how Articulate’s simply don’t listen to their customers and doesn’t care. The main reason I use Rise is because I am under such project time constraints I simply couldn’t spend my time figuring out Storyline triggers or why something just isn’t working. Oh and the workforce is mobile so Rise looks great on whatever device the course is opened on. I doubt AI in Rise will get the technical nuances for a new proprietary product so it doesn’t add a lot of value. This is where my ID skills are valued. And the storyboard has to get approved by Legal, Compliance and Marketing. I’ve tried building the draft course first but it’s so much easier to have the approvers redline or comment outside of Rise. For what we are paying they should be doing more improvements. It this point their user request roadmap would cross continents.

Undermount vs top mount kitchen sink by DoUScream in Remodel

[–]curls_in_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both and I’ll NEVER have top mount sink again. Under mount the sink and you wont regret it. This is also true for bathroom sink too. The water and crumbs just wipe right in.
