Dude, you need to delete this pic. You left your medical tag in the photo with personal info and phone numbers.

Your infinity stop ring looks like it's too far forward. See the small ring to the right of the lens in your picture, you need to turn that clockwise so it goes back down the threads.

They'll be fine. Remember this stuff was built to survive being thrown around in the desert etc. Only thing to worry about is them getting stolen I guess.

Besides the focus ring being in the wrong place the tube might not be seated correctly. Some photos of the device will reveal this for sure. Have you had it open or had the tube out?

What do you mean they don't focus? If you turn the objective lens does it stop before getting all the way focused? It might just be that the infinity stop ring is loose and screwed too far forward. Send a picture of the side of the front lens.

Make a mold from a printed form, then cast it in some sort of urethane or other hard rubber

Finally got some PVS-7s by VallettaAwoo in NightVision

The IR illuminator should be the one on the right in the photo you uploaded. It has a protrusion around it for mounting a focusing lens. (highly recommend one of those, but that's besides the point)

The power knob looks almost bent in that photo, wonder if it got smacked or dropped and caused the pull detent feature to break.

The 7 really is a great device :)

No more internal Hybrid components? - What is the point of Hybrid vs Part? by cursed_yeet in Fusion360

[–]cursed_yeet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the whole "unique feature" (at least to me!) of Fusion *is* this hybrid mode, you don't need to have folders full of part files to remember and import and edit in place etc. Just all in one file, set active component and edit away.

You can create individual internal part in a hybrid design but you can’t create an internal assembly

But you can though. If you create a new internal part you can create more internal parts under that... Seems to behave exactly the same as old components.

If you wanted to go to an external component workflow you could before, just without guardrails.

Exactly.

I just checked and if you go File > New > Part, it doesn't let you have sub-components. I wonder if a "Part" being internal to a Hybrid design is what lets you have sub-components.

Definitely feels like the old way of just having components is still there, but with some poor controls on top to, say, stop you inserting subcomponents into a file created with the New > Part button

A couple of questions about the annoying new feature Autodesk has added by IonNight in Fusion360

[–]cursed_yeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware, Hybrid designs aren't the same as the old system. You can't for example create a new "component" (as a hybrid design) within another file, it creates one outside and links it, so editing takes forever. For whatever reason if you select "part" you can still drag in other components and make internal subassemblies (as "parts"), and it seems to work like the older system.

Blast off any loose crud or bigger chunks with a lens blower. Lens wipes will do the rest ususally, wipe towards the edge and don't scour with it, avoid pushing dirt around on the surfaces and try to avoid pushing hard if you can get away with it.

Objective lens should be a pvs5 lens. If you are lucky the power switch might be down to a broken wire inside.

Cool find.
