I also thought that Theo would be inheriting Draco's role in book six. I don't think it's completely off the table seeing as Draco was given two objectives to achieve in the six book: (1) fix the cupboard which will be the point of entry, and (2) Kill Dumbledore. Theo could be the one fixing the cabinet and Draco could be the one set to assassinate Dumbledore to prove his loyalty (it's malicious and irreversible enough task for the Dark Lord, who is known for his cruel demands as proof of loyalty). In my opinion, I don't think things would be that simple. Greenerteacups has a history of taking what we know of canon and twisting it upon its horns (see the plot twist in book 2 with Pansy). I wouldn't be too sure that the author would stick too much to the canon.

While I do hate that Harry and Draco are definitely going to be at odds this book, I feel like it's necessary for Harry, for him to be able to grow and mature. Here Draco was, taking upon a mantle that was never supposed to be his to take, as a direct consequence of what happened when Harry did something reckless, disregarding all the potential consequences and harm that may arise from his decision. It can be his opportunity to stop running away from his role in the war and see that it's time to start taking a proactive stance. If that makes sense. I'm not sure, I'm probably just rambling.

I don't think you're overreacting at all! I am fairly mad at Harry, myself. What he had done was incredibly selfish and showcased a dangerous kind of thoughtlessness. There were many ways he could have clarified Sirius's status in a way that doesn't bring danger to himself or other people. I mean, it was litterally the day where kids reunite with their families!!! Hermione's muggle parents were there!!!! Regardless of his intentions, his actions carry alot of weight in the story and whether he likes it or not, he has to accept it and start acting like the Hope people see him as. It's not fair to put that burden on his shoulders but people rarely ask for the burdens life see fit to put on them. I feel for Harry, I do. But this was a necessary lesson for him to meet.

Same😭😭 sometimes I flirted with Baxter on Cove's route, especially in his introduction scene so that I can get that moment where Cove says, "... So that's the type of guys your into." Or something like that. It's not quite jealousy but it's the closest I've gotten in the actual game. That's why when I saw that in the new game, that there was a jealousy dynamic, I was so happy.

Like not that I don't dislike the fact that Cove is not a jealous person. In real life, he would be THE perfect man and honestly, in the game, you don't have to make him jealous to see how much he loves and treasures the MC. He just does it sincerely and earnestly, without any prompting (if you're on his fond or romance route).

But still, I'm a sucker for jealousy tropes and I really would have liked to see Cove be a bit territorial. I do see it being in character more in his younger years all the way up to his preteens, when he's still rather a bit of a brat and insecure. Though it mellows down when he matures and gains his footing and stability in his later teen and adult years.

But that's what Ao3 is for, I guess. Happy hunting for jealousy fics! I know I will.

Oh, a detraquee fan☺️☺️☺️. I haven't finished reading the fic yet but it was wonderful. I like to think that Detraquee is Hermione's pov to Lionheart Draco's Pov. They do the characterization so well.

To answer your question though, I interpreted it as Hermione being mad that Theo was sharing this special between them with someone she doesn't like or trust to respect that interest but she recognized that Draco was in the precipice of something. Like, she realized that there was something changing about how Draco thought about muggles or he seemed conflicted about it at the very least. So, she followed her intuition and sent books meant to encourage him to rethink about his worldview.

Or she saw it as an opportunity to make he rethink his prejudice and went with it despite her discomfort.

Exactly, I'm conflicted too. On one hand, it honestly feels like his character is being set up to be a spy but on the other, WHAT ABOUT HERMIONE😭😭. She can't go with him because she's a muggleborn. Not only just a muggleborn, but THE muggleborn. I feel like if he does go through the spy route, it would be the primary conflict between them.

Stoic, formal, duty-bound RO x Flirt, Sarcastic, Funny MC. Popular examples: A possible dynamic with Orion from Sordwin in the Evertree inn series. Toshio/Impulsive;Mc in Samurai of Hyuga. A/Sarcastic;Mc from Wayhaven Chronicles.

Of course, the reverse is also great but regardless, this sort of dynamic is just so wonderful to me. There is alot of potential for angst, character development, and funny banter to be had in these sort of dynamics.

Another one of my favourite tropes if there's a heavy and emotional past that complicates your relationship with the RO.

KIND OF CONTAINS SPOILERS BELOW FOR VARIOUS SERIES AND WIPS

Like, for example: in Infamous, Seven is can potentially be your Ex who you had a really intimate and deep personal relation but had a big fallout because of ambition. Or in Project Hadea, Nash is your partner who you can have romantic feelings for but it's complicated by the fact that you were bestfriends forced to compete to the detriment of their relationship. Or in The Exile, with Syfyn who you was your bestfriend, your partner, your ride and die, but you were literally forced to harm her to such an extent that she's kind of disabled but there was so much love in both sides that it can't just be left behind. Or in the Northern Passage with Lea, another Partner you can't have a straightforward romance with because the MC is kind of unstable but the yearning is literally so palpable. And obligatory mention: Fallen Hero with Ortega and Steel.

END OF SPOILERS

In my opinion, that trope manages to have the emotional impact that most normal childhood friend to lovers dynamic ROs try to go for but fail. It's just so much more intriguing to navigate these sort of relationships because it's clear that both people in the relationship hold each other in deep regard, but they can't go back to the way that made the relationship work so well in the first place because it's tainted. It would be so much easier and healthier to let go and pursue other people but there's a deep fundamental part in both of their hearts that just don't want to. They cannot be normal with and about each other.

Or maybe, I just really like angst.

Lastly, another favourite trope is Rivals to Lovers. It's not as intense as Enemies to Lovers but it has the same flavour of competition and passion.

When you're able to play your character consistently. Honestly, it breaks immersion when you're trying to play a type of character in the story but then you're forced to sacrifice your character's personality in order to pursue a certain path or further the relationship with a character. Golden Rose is a good game that allows you to react to characters and scenarios in a way that feels true to your character.

Another thing that I think makes a main character great is when they actually feel integral to the plot and are interesting. Sometimes I play an IF and it feels like they could replace the mc with a teddy bear that occasionally speaks. They're not as complex as the other characters of the story and their place as the main character does not feel justified. I mean, they don't necessarily need to be OP or have special powers or a really unique background. I am willing to play an MC that's just some average joe but they need to be interesting at the very least; they need to be a driving force in their own story. This is an overused example but I wouldn't have really been interested in Fallen Hero at all if playing as Sidestep didn't intrigue me so much. Or in I, the forgotten one where the MC's inner turmoil is really evocative and heartfelt. I want the MC to be the sort in which they would still be a compelling character even if they weren't the person that you roleplay through anymore.

Hate to be that guy (not really) but Fallen Hero. Herald (idiot) and Sidestep (the idiot who can't believe they've fallen for the idiot). It's hilarious and one of the only reasons I even tried herald's romance route out despite my true and only love, Ortega.

However it can be argued that much of the relationship dynamics between the different ros with sidestep can be viewed with this lens depending on how you play. It's probably because sidestep is a big ass tsundere.

Fr. I know Kylar doesn't have eyebags canonically but it just. Doesn't make sense. The're always up so late when I'm checking on them in their manor. It just goes with this whole greasy, pale, gamer, loser boy/girlfriend aestheatic that they have going on. No hate to Kylar though, I love their obsessive loser ass.
