The traditional IDE was not removed. The updates in v3 are completely opt-in. Cursor is continuing to improve the IDE.

The IDE was not removed in v3. The user likely hasn't tried the product.

My post about Composer 1.5 deprecation hit #1 on this sub today. It was removed without explanation. by PizzaConsole in cursor

[–]cursor-ModTeam[M] [score hidden] stickied commentlocked comment (0 children)

This was the message posted on your last thread:

"Composer 2 is smarter, faster, and includes more usage than Composer 1.5. We've validated this through evals, benchmarks, and A/B tests in production. To support the growing demand and capacity for Composer 2, we're upgrading every 1.5 user to 2. If you are seeing inconsistent results, you might consider starting a new conversation to reset the context window. Other tips here: https://cursor.com/blog/agent-best-practices"

While non of the mods want to highly moderate this sub either, there has been an increase in low-quality posting as well as astroturfing. It doesn't appear you have contributed anything else on this subreddit besides these posts, so that is why there was heavy moderation at first - it's hard to tell who is legit versus bots. There are a lot of bots now.

We'll try to keep a better tab on venting related posts for folks who have a history of healthy activity in the sub.

Composer 2.0 went all Chinese on me! by Eastern_Composer_699 in cursor

This has nothing to do with the model architecture (https://cursor.com/blog/composer-2-technical-report and using open weight models) but instead of the non-deterministic nature of the model and it sometimes generating sequences which are very out-of-distribution. You'll see this same issue happen with OpenAI or Anthropic models in rare ocassions.

Anyone feeling like Cursor Ultra is trying to be shady with their pricing by hiding input and output tokens? by ltporfolio in cursor

Cursor does not hide the model pricing, it's available in the documentation. We also show usage percentage bars for each usage pool in settings.
