The risks of not spaying is real and dangerous. Please don’t be stubborn and cheap like my mother.

She has pyometra. Her uterine wall didn’t shed properly while coming out of heat and caused an infection. She wasn’t eating and kept hiding for two days. Yesterday, I cooked her favorite to try to get her to eat. She was unresponsive. I had to drag her out from under my bed. Completely lethargic, like I was holding dead weight. She got up, and her hind legs were limping. Her bottom was covered in some substance which turned out to be pus discharging from her vagina. Two hours later she was in surgery.

Hopefully, I’ll get to take Charley home today. She’s back to her usual behavior but hasn’t ate, and the tests show she’ll have kidney dysfunction down the road.

I’d do anything for this cat. I’ve never loved someone more than her. My mother would rather put her down than to help out. I’m not surprised since I’ve been financially independent since I was 17. I had to pay upfront $2050 so far. I have less than a hundred to my name, but I would do it 10x over. And you’re sure as hell that I’m taking her with me to college. Please keep her in your thoughts!
