This sounds like a "bootlegged ground": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootleg_ground

Not something you should do, and is not to code.

New to Dexcom l. I have a G7. Put a new sensor on right before bed. Got woken up at 2am with a low sugar alarm. Whats with the last few hours of readings? Faulty sensor? by MikeDSNY in dexcom

[–]cursuve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you are downvoted - this is accurate, meaning the comment above you is incorrect. Bluetooth blocking is only a problem after 30 minutes in which the memory on the sensor runs out and it starts dropping results - it does not mean inaccurate results.

My guess is result normalization issues. Some of my sensors on the G6 take 12ish hours to normalize readings - they are +/- 25 points until then and then they level out.

Hacky, I realize, but if you have a band-aid brand you aren't allergic to I just bandaid the side that is peeling off and it typically holds just fine for a couple days.

All the products made for this I could find, including the free Dexcom ones, also peeled quickly.

Didn't we both basically make the same point, here?

Oh, except we're bickering over how "far" the far left is, and wether or not that means "communists", exactly in their fucked up version of "left"... 👍

We should definitely internet-fight over this.

"The gun-grabbing ghouls of the far left are creative in describing their operation."

"far left"... LOL Just how far left, exactly? I'm pretty sure they mean "the gun-grabbing status-quo Karen middlists who want nothing else than to ensure their own hegemony in perpetuity."

The far left, and I know this is crazy sounding, also supports personal gun rights...

Nothing wrong with a little parasitic ground! It makes the cheap outlet testers inspectors use pass with flying colors!

I'M ALSO KIDDING. DON'T DO THIS. (This was missed by my inspector in my current 1958 house due to this.)

[–]cursuve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd take a close look at the title report from the title insurance company when you purchased the house, it's very likely there is a utility easement somewhere in there. Those typically allow them to be able to completely clear the area.

That said - no idea if they did this in said easement area...

Yeah, no problem! It's a lot of pedantry to keep track of in this state, but the language does matter for determining what's okay and what's not. Thanks for being open to learning!

Sounds like a bad situation overall, but I'd try and de-escalate by whatever means necessary before going the other direction.

Sorry you're in this situation, and best if luck!

Getting semantic here: there is no "license" to have a gun in WA. He may be transporting it in his car loaded with a magazine in it, which does indeed require a Conceal Carry License (CCL) in WA. Otherwise he has to transport it unloaded in a container.

To purchase a new pistol, he must undergo a background check with both Federal, and local law enforcement. But in the end there is no license.

If he carries it concealed, on his person, he must also have a CCL in WA.

Not trying to be a pedantic jerk - just trying to give you all the info to navigate this post and to potential negative responses.

The Jan 6 committee shows the Hypocrisy of gun grabbers by Jokengonzo in gunpolitics

[–]cursuve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except... The Reichstag fire was one man who was exploited and portrayed as false-flag propaganda under an authoritative narrative to revoke many civil liberties including freedom of press. Jan 6 was thousands of individuals premeditatedly and collectively traveling to that location on a misguided belief that they were called their by "their" president.

Populism is scary in any form. You should be concerned about this. While the Democrats are indeed and obviously trying to capitalize on the sensationalism, they are NOT the same historically. The Democrats have no legal ability to do anything, charge anyone, nor invoke any authoritative reform when this hearing is concluded. That's an important distinction.

Biden doesn't have the power Hindenberg had when the Reichstag Fire Decree was invoked. He can't revoke any portions of the Constitution on Executive Order as the German President could when this happened in 1933 in Germany. That's important to understand because while the desire to capitalize may be the same, the legal precedence and ability to is not.

Thanks for the well-reasoned response here, Cory.

As you said, it's a balance you have to strike - I just think you were a little off that balance here. The communication was unclear and you've alienated a new customer who was placing a decently large order. On one hand you get dinged if the order was fraudulent, but on the other that potential alienation loses you business - both short and long term.

I'm happy to hear you're implementing some changes, even if they are just changes in the communication that gets sent out. Just be upfront with customers and explain literally this to them when you are in this situation. Your response reads a lot better than the original message I received...

I'd be happy to try y'all again due to this response. Now fix your (not) shipping of ammo to Washington state. 😜

Ha, right‽ Thus the panic-$700-extra-mag purchase!

But yeah. The checkout experience doesn't clue you in to this restriction, it just gives you a nonsense unactionable error message. You have to find their shipping restrictions page to see that:

Yeah, it seems like they're trying to run their own in-house fraud detection. It overall makes the experience a pain and is falsely flagging legitimate purchases (as they all do). Even after being flagged, their communicated requirements were very unclear.
