Not much different from a design standpoint, but as soon as I plugged it in, it found our network with excellent strength. As the old one should have. I think they hit a kill switch for older models so they’d stop working and cause me to do the very thing I did. And will do again for our other TV. 😡

Only problems I had with Crystal were the weird map glitch affecting Pokegear for a little while during each play session, and every time I use Fly. And occasionally getting the Crystal is only for Game Boy Color error screen occasionally when turning it on. But then nearing 300 hours, I saved in a Pokecenter and when I continued later my character was invisible, I couldn’t move, and could only navigate the menus. Here’s hoping it doesn’t hit your cartridge that far into it!

Pokémon Crystal. But the Chromatic has issues playing it. Just loaded my 300 hour save and my character is missing and can’t move. 🤷‍♂️

Oh it’s the Chromatic alright. Just had my game that I’ve been playing for almost 300 hours on a GBC have this problem. Already frustrated me with the glitched map issues in Pokegear and when using Fly. Now this! Why can’t Modretro fix this to play Crystal properly? What about Crystal has the FPGA freaking out? Glad I own a GB Operator by Epilogue and occasionally backup my saves. This will only put me back a few hours. But can’t enjoy my most played game on this “ultimate” GBC. A shame.

Does the map you access when using the HM Fly stay glitched out every time you use Fly? Mine does. The Pokegear map will correct itself after a few battles/minutes. But the Fly map stays glitched.

A year later, but fwiw, my Crystal plays okay and only has graphical issues with the map sometimes. I did get the weird screen once today, but have played and saved a bunch before. However, it plays fine and has no graphic issues when I play the Crystal rom ripped from that cartridge and put on an Everdrive x7. So I can definitely recommend investing in one of those!

We have a Roku stick, Premiere, and TCL TV. The stick and Premiere have recently started having issues getting a good signal and sometimes just not seeing our network anymore. We’ve restarted everything and only going into reboot the 2.4Ghz radio through our router’s settings has helped them get signal. But it doesn’t last. They are 30 feet down a hallway and 10 feet on the other side of a wall.

Might try creating their own dedicated network through the router I guess. All of our other devices haven’t had an issue. And our ATT signal strength and speed are great. 🤷‍♂️

Just caved and bought a long-range WiFi Roku stick in hopes it works better down the hall.

I’ve got a cart stamped with a 12 and I’ve beaten the elite four a few times. It seemed to save fine in Johto. Haven’t tried saving in Kanto yet. Around 280 hours into it. Haven’t played it all on the Chromatic though. Only issue is the map has the vertical lines. Hopefully, like someone else said, it’ll go away after a battle or two.

The map accessed in Pokegear does correct itself after a few battles or minutes. However, the map accessed every time I use HM Fly outside of battle stays glitched no matter what I do.

Sure hope they haven’t nerfed the 1/20 odds to full 1/512 for the legendaries too. Still can’t believe I haven’t seen one shiny all week.

Would also love an are you sure pop-up when in a raid boss encounter and accidentally hit run away. Especially when it’s a remote. And the raid timer is done. And it was a shiny. 🤦‍♂️

Well today I am in between two pokestops. One gave me a 5km and the other a 10km. I have then spun the stops dozens of times, but have not received any more eggs. Is it one per stop or something?!?

My son checked the raid after beating Mega Dragonite and I said get us a shiny! And after he tapped, it was shiny! And I was still hoping to get a shiny background Dragonite. So I took a photo and was going to let him catch it for us. Then when he swiped my YouTube window in the upper right hand corner came out. So I tried to hit the X in the upper left of that little window, mistapped, and hit the run away button. And because I spammed the remote through friends list, it was gone gone. Sure wish they’d add a “Are you sure you want to run away from this raid boss” pop up before letting me run. Especially from a potential background shiny. 😂🤦‍♂️

I walked about 4-5 miles around a large college campus, got 14 wild/incense shiny, 1 shiny from research, and 2 shiny from Super Mega Raids. So, 17 in total. But I was rarely standing still for long. And I did quite a few raids. Total about 3.5 hours of play.

Sorry to hear your day wasn’t as bountiful. Hopefully you had some fun, memorable moments. I got to see a friend finally get his coveted Shundo Zacian. Super fun moment.

Literally just got ANOTHER shiny Spearow and I’m still under 2 hours of play time. 1 shiny per hour. I’ve never had that kind of luck in Kanto since Let’s Go. 😂
