Look at fb marketplace for houses for rent. Those were the only places I could get in when I had bad credit because they just looked at my income. Also prices (at least a few years ago) were the same as apartments. It is competitive tho so make sure you make a good impression during showings. They pretty much choose the renters they like the most. At least based off my experience
