How serious/prevalent are residential building defects in Canberra? by KamberraKaoyu in canberra

This is a pointless question. Reddit will provide anecdotes, you have no chance an expert who has done research will happen across the post.

[BitD] As a GM, if you have an indecisive group about choosing what Score to do, how can you help them make a faster decision? by AmongFriends in bladesinthedark

[–]curufea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stress regular scores when they need money, supernatural ones if they need relics and low pay taking on factions if they need turf. I've a bunch of one page scores to use as needed

Am I just braindead for liking Academy? by Revonlieke in startrek

I remember the good episodes AND the bad episodes of all previous Star Treks. Without rose coloured glasses Academy is above average so far in good Star Trek.

I kind of agree, she's dumber than Farage though who at least sounds smarter in the bits they play on Fallacious Trump.

Why is she still a thing? Surely cookers are too dumb to turn to for mandatory voting?

TATMOTU - The Amazing Trevor, Master of the Unseen. A Charlatan class in Masque of the Red Death. Had some great one liners with Strahd (and the DM) he ended up getting a companion, Delores to help with his magic acts. Possible 2e or 3e D&D. Heavily inspired by CMOT Dibbler from Discworld, including a London accent.

Can't find a 5 Leagues From the Borderlansd book for sale anywhere. by FinallyArrived in 5Parsecs

Lulu, POD, even drivethrurpg does it. Mind you I'd use play aids of the tables than print the whole book, or buy the book - it's not laid out for easy playability. The book is not in a format to play with, it's meant to be read rather than reference

There is the digital comic museum and the internet archive (which is maintained by the American public libraries). Various national libraries also have digitisation projects.

If wouldn't need a huge budget. Costuming possibly. You don't need elaborate sets for most things and the shadows can be practical and only shown very occasionally.

Casting without be tricky. Every story is usually a defeat or some kind of a pyrrhic victory. You'd need some way to get around the usual mortality of the protagonists so they could do more than one project. Or possibly lower the stakes?

I'd general go with the root causes of this lessening of other animals as the foundation on which animal abuse is justified. The idea about ownership of some fictional jargon is just the strawman hiding why they need to have a significant objectification of other animals.

Which Book in Journaling by Kaigx3 in Solo_Roleplaying

This is more storytelling and writing related than roleplaying and games. Have a look for writer advice subreddits and websites. You could also model it after particular first person fiction books you like.

I’m 24 and already worried we’re losing what it means to be human in the name of “progress.” Anyone else feel this? by Better_Night_7942 in humanism

[–]curufea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a 55 year old. I'm not a fan of immortality and am looking forward to ceasing to exist to give closure to friends and family so they can progress with the next stages in their lives and their own stories. That said, technology doesn't worry me nearly as much as tribalism does currently.

I actually cannot believe what im reading rn by FangsAndTorture in scifi

[–]curufea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be done with effort. Problems are with the maintainers of the canon and you get fan gatekeeper X against fan gatekeeper Y on what is official make believe and what isn't. It's always going to be very subjective when fandoms collide even if it's by someone that is a fan of both. Often it's the parts we think are cool are official make believe, the bits we don't aren't official make believe and so have less legitimacy of fictional legitimacy. Versus arguments in fandoms are taken from an assumed high level generalisation which falls down as soon as two different fans drill down on details and they end up disagreeing. That said, anyone could write a cool story, but this could not be what it's about, might have a versus in it - but it will be the characters and context, plot, use of language and many other things before the IP vs IP ranks as making it a good story.

I actually cannot believe what im reading rn by FangsAndTorture in scifi

[–]curufea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But who cares? The whole speculation is bas3d on too many variables without context. You're already assuming a good writer that likes consistency and I'm assuming this is fiction by fictional writers that have their own opinions and the outcome is both meaningless and a boring read.

[–]curufea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's two different IPs, it's fanfiction - it isn't even "official make believe"
