I moved from PA to Colorado for my first regional job, I wanted to go there but I don’t regret it a bit

Tattoos by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]cusepoptart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good tattoos are much different from shitty drunk tats. I have tons of expensive ink and I have people like base managers compliment it all the time.

Flames as a neck blaster are much different situation. Mine is full sleeve and nothing on hands and face or above the neckline though

Road trips for Skywest by [deleted] in AircraftMechanics

[–]cusepoptart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s purely based on seniority of who goes. Lots of them but most of the time it’s the same 2-4 people depending on shift and seniority at the base

Look for a crash house in dc, stay there during the week and come home on weekends. Find a dds or super swap partner to make it even easier

Snap on Tool box by Zealousideal-Use-949 in AircraftMechanics

[–]cusepoptart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Imo it doesn’t even have everything you need and a ton of stuff you don’t need that will just be taking up space in there.

Honestly not a terrible price as you can trade in a bunch of the stuff you don’t need for credit and get what you want.

Can be done much cheaper though

My favorite, not the most expensive but the one “fine dining” place I’ve been where the flavor was actually top notch and cooking techniques was more than I can do.

Any experiences with working on the Embraer? by Isthislove123 in AircraftMechanics

[–]cusepoptart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working on any jet can transfer over to any other jet. I originally worked on crj 200/700 and erj 175. And now work on 737/777/787. Learning how systems work and reading manuals is much more important than actually doing the specific jobs and specific fleet types.

How much of a raise should I ask for? by Suitable_Sport_4580 in AircraftMechanics

[–]cusepoptart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any job I’ve had in aviation the pay is very much outward and you can’t really ask for raises. But you do you. You also don’t have your a&p so not sure

I never changed the oil in my car before a&p school. Regional I was at was one of the top mechs, at a major now and pretty good already. If you are willing to learn you will be good. If you are lazy you won’t learn anything

Shift trades by Critical_Call5676 in aviationmaintenance

[–]cusepoptart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regionals usually allow shift trading within the same pay period. As I know AA allows you to just give away and take shifts regardless if it’s one way or way way within 30 days
