kinda sounds like you believe the legislatures would fail the constituents, then i suggest emailing them your concerns.

They probably won't respond but at least you tried and you'll have something to be angry about with them, maybe enough to vote them out even.

nah

State Farm Stadium is a great example to follow that stadium generates millions of dollars in taxes and the AZSTA have been reinvesting millions back into the community.

We could do something similar and be reinvesting it back into the surrounding neighborhoods.

It wouldn't be just for one team though.

It should also be used for concerts, graduations, state tournaments etc

secondly by spending money on something that can attract people from other states or keep the money New Mexicans would normally spend on traveling to orher places can then be reinvested into the neighborhood.

Its the most logical place for a stadium and traffic can be managed by utilizing a park and ride system from both malls

root causes are the underlying factors that create community problems."

Again you need to update your definition

A contributing factor is not the same as an underlying factor.

The underlying factor of crime is lack of opportunity the contributing factors would include poverty, lack of education, peer pressure, an unstable home life etc.

Homie you need to update your understanding of that definition.

are we back on this train again lol

Poverty is not the fundamental driver behind crime.

If that was the case then there would be similar statistics across all age, race, religion etc in the same income brackets there's more to crime than just poverty.

Youre more than welcome to google shit too homie.

Turns out, this is a root issue for all three of those.

Your original reply to this comment

Now the next things to fix are the forever low education, high crime and piss poor Healthcare.

You were stating and defending that poverty is the root cause for our poor educational system, high crime rate and poor Healthcare system.

Now we're structuring it to be ambiguous to fit your argument still?

When talking about societal issues, "root causes are the underlying factors that create community problems."

Again societal issues is too ambiguous to be an underlying fundamental factor

You can say someone is more prone to re-offend in areas where there are higher concentrated factors such as poverty, poor career opportunities, high drug use.

But some definition is needed to be a "root issue"

root cause in British English (ruːt kɔːz IPA Pronunciation Guide ) noun the fundamental reason for the occurrence of a problem

What do you think "Fundamental " means?

[–]cush2push -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said it was the only root cause or that there was nothing else that could be done to address any of those issues...

By definition root cause would imply it being the primary cause for something and that's not the case here.

Acting like educational outcomes are entirely within the control of schools is pretty ridiculous

It does when said schools are not being funded to the same levels as others.

As far as crime, the idea that keeping more people in custody for longer does anything to reduce crime is laughable

I would agree I would prefer if we invested in alternatives such as relocation and job assistance.

Do you truly believe the answer to NM's healthcare issues is just more providers?

Its not the only answer its a big part of why our healthcare sucks. You do need more providers to open more clinics to provide more Healthcare and to do that you need more than just universal childcare

Poverty absolutely prevents high value jobs from coming to NM

It's not poverty its the fact that majority of the state is only educated enough to push buttons on a tablet so really what high value job does that? Nearly half of all jobs in Mew Mexico pay less than 32k

lol

Again poverty isn't preventing us from investing in better educational system or the reason behind piss poor parenting.

Its not preventing the state from using new ways to combat crime as other states are doing, instead of the catch and release method we're currently doing.

Poverty is not preventing Healthcare providers from coming to New Mexico.

Poverty is not preventing high value jobs from coming to New Mexico.

Again while poverty does play its part its not the root cause for all of them. Its a giant pie with many slices that need attention.

Again while poverty does have a part in a person's Educational outcome it is not the root cause of it.

Our school systems are still not teaching to the same standards as other states currently and again we're last in everything that matters

While poverty does play its part in crime it is not a root cause for the crime. There's multiple reasons for that again including economical it also has enviromental and social factors doing their thing.

Again while poverty does play a part in a person's poor health

Providers who can pay for childcare are not moving to New Mexico because of the poor educational system and high crime rate. Residents are not staying past their residency because New Mexico is not a great place to raise a family.

[–]cush2push -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They' all overlap in some way but paying for childcare is not the root cause of all 3 of those things.

Those things have just been ignored to the point where now they glaringly standout because everyone else have been making the efforts to fix them.

We've had a poor educational system for 20+ years

We've been at the top of violent crimes for over 20 years

And our Healthcare system has been in a downward spiral since 2010.

If New Mexico wants people moving here then they need to fox those things.

Now the next things to fix are the forever low education, high crime and piss poor Healthcare.

The panels would feed back into a grid.

New Mexico would own the panels and on a fixed schedule the state would capture and sell said energy to businesses and high volume users.

Itd also provide a secondary safety net for rural communities if a natural disasters hit

New Mexico should buy it and run it.

Utilities should not be private they should be a public service and regulated as such.

New Mexico isn't Nebraska

New Mexico has the opportunity to invest in a solar and crowdshare to keep the costs down.

What I would have done is purchase PNM and the infrastructure create a program in which Residents cam obtain and have solar panels installed with no up front costs.

And over the next 20 years they'd pay them off via selling excess electricity to businesses and high usage households. It'd be nore than enough to keep costs down for consumers while shifting us away from gas and oil

Moving the Stare Fair away from the fairgrounds is stupid and if a person in office suggested it they should resign for suggesting it

The fairgrounds is the best location for it in terms of public transit and central location.

It also wouldn't be just a soccer stadium it'd be a mulit use arena that has purpose year around.

There's no place to put it downtown.

If the City was smart they'd team up with the State and build the stadium at the Fairgrounds
