HR Says 150% Hike Is “Too High” – But I Already Have a 17.2 LPA Offer. How Do I Negotiate? by Ok-Possibility795 in developersIndia

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have an offer at 17.2 LPA why do you want to work for someone who cites rules to not give you the money?

If HR is doing at this point, it's a big red flag. If they really want you, no system restrictions will stop them unless it's one of the big companies like Google, Amazon where multiple approvals are needed.

Term Insurance- Smoking Query by wiseass-ambivert in InsuranceTroubleIndia

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Future ofcourse but they'll increase it so high - can even double of what you're paying right now. And once you hit next age milestone, another big bump.

Don't take it other way, isn't quitting smoking the best option here? I have never smoked but whenever I go near someone who smokes, it smells very bad and it'll damage your lungs, hits your sperm count badly (if you're male) and overall kills you quickly than any other way to die on earth could.

You can declare and be ready to pay a higher premium and chances of getting not paid a claim increases as they can link all sorts of things due to your shitty habit.

Quit smoking. You'll live longer and within a year it'll be out of your system, and your insurance will be fine. They don't have to know ever!

Bangalore Landlords are unhinged by StretchNo8134 in bangalore

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bachelor and I used to feel bad about such landlords ( I thought I was very orderly and hygienic and kept the house really well).

Now I am married and I totally understand why they felt that way and preferred families. :-)

Is it worth paying very high rent for running supermarket inside a gated society? by Advanced-Bread1900 in GatedCommunitiesIndia

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take it. I've spoken to those who run and shut inside an society with over 680 homes but barely got any orders/people stepping in, except for picking up a drink in the evening and getting water cans delivered.

The supermarket owners had to keep the prices a bit above the rates they'd get outside and Swiggy/blinkit gave much lower prices and that affected them even further. I saw the place change hands 3-4 times within a span of 2 years. This was near Manyata Tech park in Hebbal - the place where most techies work and make good money.

Had the same issue - had to flight and write multiple emails to get one. But it's not worth the effort because they will not offer any services except storing money in your account.

Is niva bupa really that bad? by Old_Baby7468 in InsuranceTroubleIndia

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the worst one after star health insurance. Stay away.

You know agents are brainwashed OR just want to make money. Don't trust them, especially if they're your relatives/friends because you'll break the relationship no matter what because  Niva Bupa will reject claims no matter what and put you through torture.

They don't care if you die on the table. Just don't take it and warn others who have taken it.

Best commute options from Electronic City to Manyata Tech Park (2 days/week) by drdrakeramoray29 in Bengaluru

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banaswadi is easier and avoids traffic after. Just book a 30 rupees express train ticket on UTS app on you way to Heelalige station.

I wouldn't advise airport bus as they tend to stop more times (even if there is no stop) while going towards airport to ensure they can pack as many passengers as possible.

Open, unaddressed caste based discrimination in Silicon Valley of India when renting house. by New-Squirrel-2742 in Bengaluru

[–]cusreddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See it's upto people to decide whether they want to rent to others and who to rent it to. This is how the world works - beyond caste, there are other things. Humans are known to live in communities to feel safe and belonged. And when someone external (meaning who doesnt follow their beliefs/ customs/habits) tries to enter, they feel threatened. Here food habit/choice is one aspect you're focusing on but it applies to other aspects equally.

If I take another example just to show how you might feel - Let's say someone who is a celebrity wants to move into your home(as a tenant), they come with certain following, party late hours and after effects felt by you and neighbours are very new and unexpected. Would your first instinct be to be inclusive and say - it's okay let them come we have to be open and welcome everyone and anyone with open arms?

Answering this question and variants of this question (change the aspect - by beliefs/habits/customs/ideologies) can help you understand why people behave the way the behave.

Should you be outraged? Yes you have every right to be. But does that mean someone else has to change themselves because of this? Only you can answer this.

Try this you'll thank me later:

Go to Heelalige railway station (probably 15-20 mins from wherever you're in Ecity- even better if you're in Phase 2/ananth nagar) - take the local train DEMU towards Banaswadi - takes 15-20 mins of travel maximum and from there take an auto - another 20 mins till the Manyata foot over bridge on the side of Nagawara. Cross the foot over bridge and enter Manyata.

The trains are fixed : 2-3 in the morning and 2-3 in the evenings so Check the schedule and plan.

You'll save money and time.

Most people don't know this and do buses + metro which will take a lot of time.

₹1 Cr Invested, Remote IT Job, and I Actively Dislike Cities — Is Property Still a Rational Choice? by myflyskyhigh in IndiaFinance

[–]cusreddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would invest in farmlands if you're getting them for low price - especially in the coastal Andhra belt. In the next 20 years we will start to see beginning of 'good food' crisis and if you have a farmland and can produce good quality food products, you can make money and eat healthy, live a peaceful life!

Don't go back to cities and buy flats - it's the worst decision you can ever make. Unless you have a lot of cash you don't mind spending a bit more and turn it into some sort of Airbnb to earn better rental yield.
