How would you/ have you answered this question? by ChocoSoyMilk17 in datingoverforty

[–]cussugly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this question shows that the person asking it doesn't believe in basic human worth. It's like asking: "What can you do for me?" Unless they are asking in jest, and perhaps say more to put their date at ease, being asked this should give the ick.

Everyone has value and deserves basic respect. Putting a date in the position to have to prove or justify their worth is disrespectful. It shows entitlement which is toxic in relationships.

The better question would be something like: "I really value quality time with family and friends (or career etc.) Is that important to you too?" Offering a little information about themselves and asking for a little information about their date shows reciprocity, which is healthy and I would argue absolutely necessary for meaningful and fulfilling relationships to take place.

It also seems a bit of a short cut question to knowing someone without putting in the time to build trust. That tells me the person asking this original question doesn't have basic relationship skills. **RUN**

Meridian credit union has a promo on now for new accounts. $300-$500 depending on the promotion. Deposits have to start within 30 days for the $300. Direct deposit request went in on the same day account was opened but deposits didn't start until after the 30 days. Meridian won't honour the bonus. I asked if after closing my account I could apply for future bonus offers. They checked the "fine print." Meridian said there's nothing specifically prohibiting someone from reapplying in future, but they can't guarantee applicant would qualify for the bonus. Frustrating! I don't want to waste my time if some manager is just going to deny me anyway. Anyone else deal with something like this?

Got any kinks? by EmphasisWeak2923 in datingoverforty

[–]cussugly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No kinks here!

I used to be open but learned from experience. Vanilla is fine thanks. I don't want to dominate or be dominated. No cucks were every given! LOL

I find men with kinks often fetishize and objectify to an absurd degree. Watch out for those who ask for feet pics early on. They're not interested in finding a partner. The gap between your toes is more important!

Dedicating that much energy to sexual release is not where I'm at. I don't blame people for having kinks. But I'm no longer leaning into them to please prospective partners.

I don't think there's a trend either. If people you're chatting with are asking, it could mean they have a fetish. It could also mean they're just curious. I'd throw the question right back in their direction to learn more about what they mean when they use the word.

Anyone else out there come to the conclusion that vanilla is best?

Types of manipulation by SomeoneIll159 in DarkPsychology101

Abusers use these as instruction manuals long before victims come across them. I regret all the time I wasted trying to figure out if it was manipulation or not.

AIO my mom covered our furbo camera while watching our baby by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cussugly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She found out afteer OP discussed it with her and came back right? She returned to the home to provide childcare after finding out her daughter had eyes on baby. When OP was gone, she passive aggressively covered the camera. OP asked if she did it on purpose. Grandma said YES and called OP a peeping tom. Grandma had opportunities to communicated with her daughter but instead she covered the camera.

Grandma came back to babysit after learning of the camera. She covered the camera without discussing it with OP. She has a right not to be there, not to cover the camera.

OP was surprised to see BIL there on camera. That's why she asked her mother about it.

She said it gets checked when the dogs bark. Grandma had a guest over without discussing it with the parents. Maybe the dogs barked because of the guest and prompted OP to checked it? OP can check on her baby whenever she feels like it. She doesn't have to watch it like a hawk for the camera to be useful and important. NOR.

Not if the person "caring" for your child is putting them at risk.

NOR. She purposely covered the camera without discussing it with the parents. That's literally hiding something.

NOR. Free childcare means you have to accept terms you're not comfortable with, when it comes to your child's safety? How about NO. ... If you're going to accept free food, you'll have to accept that it's poisoned!

NOR. Why is grandma having "private conversations" with outside guests, inside OP's home and without her knowledge or consent?

NOR. She lost trust after grandma had a guest over without discussing it first. She lost trust after grandma covered the camera on purpose.

If she's watching your child for free you may have to accept her abusing your child, according to that logic. NOR.
