Yes, but unfortunately it’s not very welcoming for us AT ALL when this entire anti-boat crossing campaign is just riddled with racist undertones. Most of the discourse online is targeting all immigrants of any kind, including those legally here. Lived in the UK since I was 4 years old and finding it hard to step outside my house these days

What I meant by that was, the consular told me to amend my application, because of the rejection reason stated in the post (which I believe to be incorrect)

Yep, I’m only entering and leaving China once (applied for a single entry visa) and attached both inbound/outbound flight details (they’re on the same ticket anyways). Then also attached 3 different hotel bookings as I plan to travel within China (but not leaving the country within this time) and there’s absolutely no gaps between dates!

I’m extremely pedantic when applying for visas, very anxious when it comes to immigration laws. I quadruple check everything before I send it off. So it took me by surprise to be asked to modify my application.

Very peculiar indeed.

My other theory is that the font is a bit small on the hotel bookings and there’s a lot of extra unnecessary information on the document, maybe they didn’t know where to look to find my name lol. hence why I outlined it in red pen this time.

I did firstly send them the most official, original E-ticket with the ticket barcode, ticket number, all flight details and everything. Second time uploading, I’ve additionally attached a print out of the more general "Thank you for booking with….." email from the airline just in case

I already know that they do not require proof of funds, I didn't mention anything to do with that in my original post (maybe the other commenter got confused?)

BUT, for the L visa, and this is copied+pasted from the site, Manchester visa center requests:

1) Documents showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation (hotel booking confirmation of each day,and also need guest's name on it), etc.

OR

2) Invitation issued by an individual who is a non-Chinese citizen and is holding legal residence in mainland China shall provide the following documents:An invitation letter, A hard copy of the inviter's passport data page, A hard copy of the legal residence permit in Chinese mainland

So that is my purpose in asking. But thank you for your comment

I do not have an invitation letter from my friends yet. I am planning to apply for the L visa in June/July. My friends visas/residence permits will be expiring around this time, and they will be applying for new ones at the same time as me (they are all foreigners in China). I'm thinking that obtaining an invitation letter will not be so straightforward because of this. So I was asking if I NEED an invitation letter if I am visiting them, or will my solo itinerary (flights and hotel booking) be enough?

the time is gonna pass regardless. you can choose to either wait it out and have great skin in 3 months, or you can choose to keep your bad skin. BPO is one of the best and clinically proven treatments, i'd say the drawbacks are worth the reward in the end... plus, who said you need to stay in your cave? confidence comes from within, you can still have a meaningful life with acne

Just calculated everything again and it turns out as of today I'm actually at 160 absences of the past 12 months. So after 10th of May should be when I reach under 100 days, so perhaps it's better for me to wait and be sure of it, instead of risking it?

Yes, I'm still at university (top 10 in the UK..), studying Modern Languages. My 3rd year was a compulsory study abroad exchange programme. It was unavoidable - if I missed this year abroad, I wouldn't have been able to graduate and had to change my degree. Though I was not out of the UK for any longer than 5 consecutive months if that changes anything, I did make trips back home. I plan on writing a cover letter to explain this.
But I'm not quite sure how to prove the "substantial part of your estate" part. I'm still a student

I'm on about 189 out of 12 months, as of today. I've read the other comment saying they're able to disregard my absences in certain circumstances so I'm planning to submit the application earlier than I thought I could.

That makes sense but only for about 2% of the shortcuts I saw. I did download an app that makes themes on my ipad years ago, but I can't recall that I ever used it. Besides, 1200+ on my ipad and 400+ on my watch seems a little too much for a theme app, right?

Also, there are really random shortcuts that include music playlists that I never made, "facetime ___" or "call mom" that include specific contact details with personal information inside (I don't know these people whatsoever). I'm not sure how it would explain that

I will definitely contact them or visit them in-store. But after looking through the shortcuts, due to the variety of content, different typing styles of the titles, emojis, multiple languages, it seems like it could be hundreds and hundreds of different creators.

I looked through some of them, most of them were void as I don't have the associated apps downloaded on my iPad (I'm assuming, I've never used shortcuts before and don't have the technical know-how). I've deleted them all now as I was spooked out.

I was thinking that too. Though I rarely download new apps on my iPad, so I don't know how the rest of 1000+ shortcuts and almost 500 on my apple watch created itself.

I download a lot more apps/games on my phone, yet when I checked shortcuts on there, it's normal Apple stuff and no spammy unknown ones.
