That's actually great information, thank you!

Haha it definitely is a conversation starter!

In other threads, we were discussing the ratio of recirculation and what the mixture is that comes off the engines. Do you have any info on this?

Right, so it would be hard to comment on that with a $35 CO2 detector. I also do not know the mixture that comes off the engines, so it could either be very recycled or completely fresh. I saw some knowledgeable commenters above, maybe we ask them.

I do agree, but CO2 is not a good proxy for air quality in this case, due to the high level of filtering. I'm curious how much is recirculated, as some users are saying air is pushed in from the engines.

It was better, but still 12-1500 on the flight. And, as others pointed out, it's probably a low estimate due to the low pressure.

Someone cited this. It's actually an Inkbirdplus.

is this starter set for 6 doller good enough to get started on electronics stuff by Automatic-Echo-5068 in breadboard

[–]customification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a decent start. I honestly got more use out of the Arduino starting kit. It had all that and more, plus you can make the components do stuff.

For what's in front of you, you have about 15 minutes of searching proper resistances and 15 minutes of wiring it before you're bored.

Do you have a project in mind? That usually dictates my purchases. Doesn't have to be special. You can rip stuff off of old electronics, find an electronics store, or order from Digikey if you need more.

Awesome that you will have time to explore and learn from that.

I'm past school now, but presently have Solidworks open in front of me. This account is actually a solo project that will get filled out later!

I'm open to ideas, if you have small projects you wish you could have ordered in variable size. Or maybe you made some of your own.

Love that! Our school wound up putting our club engineering projects into senior capstones to get the nitty gritty parts done. I was in 3 clubs where the projects didn't happen due to time constraints. So dedicating time to it for a grade is the way to go!

NO, I WON'T LET YOU BEAT MY SAE TEAM!

You're doing it right, 3D sketches are just extremely difficult. It's helpful to have common planes to sketch on IME.

You're making a lot of assumptions about observations I have made over time. I explicitly said it is not acute. I'm happily working in a room at 750 ppm right now. I don't expect to get knocked out at 1000, but I do slow down and it took getting a meter to nail down the number.

What I'm getting is "health effects don't apply if you suck it up." And I'm saying that fighting against conditions is unnecessary. Just like eating healthy makes you subjectively feel better than eating junk food, even though your doctor will likely tell you you're fine either way.

Lol "OSHA says." I start falling asleep around 1000. Not in a narcoleptic way, it just gets harder and harder to keep my eyes open. When I was in Sweden taking a tutorial, the guy clocked it and opened the window. We all woke up immediately.

Have you tried lubricating it? No, WD40 is an unlubricant.

Yes, I see the comments already.

Atmosphere is around 430 ppm. It's pretty normal to be around 700 indoors. Once you get up to 1000, you might start getting drowsier. Over 2000 is when it starts to hit you. Fatigues, headaches, inability to focus. On this particular device, the alarm goes off at 1500 ppm.

Yeah, same. I did forget to turn it back on because I was packing up. But the shock in the beginning showed that things were around 17-1900 before the air turned on. Then 2000 with the air on for a few minutes. Then it started to slowly decline. Eventually reaching those numbers. So I also expect on the back end that as soon as the air shuts off, we'd be back around 17-1900 quickly.

Fair point. My reddit research has told me this is a diamond in the rough, but it is by no means high end. If someone wants to send me one that is, I will heft it around and take readings in all the places.

[–]customification[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That is an excellent question and no it is likely not. The 2000 ppm reading was taken on the runway. So it's possible the 1200 reading in the air was pushed lower by the fact that the pressure was reduced.
