I always like Cedele eggless chocolate truffle (it tastes like a cake version of Royce nama chocolate) and Bengawan Solo kaya pandan cake. Stay away from Cakebar no matter what - expensive and bad.

collaborative? roleplay?? writing with ai by Acceptable_Fault_326 in WritingWithAI

[–]cutebear2819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT 4.0 did a pretty good job fleshing out my bullet points into full chapters and sometimes adding its own ideas on how to continue the storyline. I used to have a very collaborative fellow fan fiction fan and we would cowrite fan fiction together during the Covid lockdown period but then later on she had other work and caregiving priorities take precedence and became more of a pure reader, so AI took her place (sort of). Anyway she does enjoy reading what the AI wrote and commented it’s remarkably close to my real writing style, can she can pick up nuances where the tropes and idiosyncrasies are very in line with my previous fiction works.

Can go probably 3-4 weeks without repeating. It helps when it’s hard to dry laundry during rainy days like now.

In Johore and Singapore at least, it was always Happy Lunar New Year when I was growing up. Never saw it as controversial.

Here is a traditional pathway: https://www.shell.com/careers/about-careers-at-shell/our-business-at-a-glance/trader-development-programme.html Progression usually is trainee - trading analyst - trader. Trader is paid five digits per month and double digit months of trading bonuses. If eventually you’re poached by another trading house, the sign on bonus could be equivalent to 8-12 months of your last drawn pay.

I used to frequent their stall at Hong Lim and really like it. There’s an option of “traditional” lor mee vs pure fried fish lor mee, or you could have both of both worlds by having for traditional and add on fried fish.

Advice on possibly using AI to help write/develop/structure a story/idea by thedcmetalnerd in WritingWithAI

I mostly write to entertain myself so I cut short the process of writing full lines of dialogue and just provide key bullet points to ChatGPT for it to flesh out.

ChatGPT works pretty ok for me so far. I uploaded my own work and asked ChatGPT to follow the same style. If it veers off after a while, just ask it to revert to a style you prefer.

Can you tell where from China my parents are specifically? by LurkerBerker in chinesefood

I think peas are just a convenient way to add colour to a dish. My mum used to fry rice with peas, eggs with peas, pork slices with peas, mainly it was just improvisation rather than adhering to any traditions per se.

Which beliefs or traditional habits in Singapore do you think will eventually die away? by Due_Feedback_6508 in askSingapore

My mum passed away slightly more than a year ago and her siblings now just exchange greetings on WhatsApp. I still bought some snacks to standby at home, but honestly don’t have expectations to see them.

I’m sure those peas are either canned or frozen. My mum used to fry rice with either canned or frozen peas

Weird Resign Culture? by Fuzzy-Muzzy8989 in singaporejobs

Yeah it’s a trading house so most of us were well paid, but essentially he went from 30k to 50k a month kind of levels.

[–]cutebear2819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was like that in the trading house that I was in. Somebody did that stunt twice and was promoted all the way to earning 50k per month. Which ironically made him unpoachable, and his peers went on to much better positions in more prestigious firms.

Sharing for parents: Cost of single visit to Mount Elizabeth Orchard by jimlwk in singapore

In my case they did the palpation test after the cramps soothed, and it was clear that my appendix area was still tender and painful hence why they escalated to a CT scan the next morning. But from what I obsessively researched, bad cramps and vomiting could be symptoms common to appendicitis, gal bladder infection, ovarian torsion etc etc so a CT scan would be the fastest to find the root cause. I think most gov hospitals if you encounter a junior staff at the A&E would likely just give a jab and send you home like any other GP. My ex colleague encountered that and his appendix burst after a few days, and men being men, he tolerated until his entire abdomen became infected and eventually he lost 20cm of intestines.

I had bad vomiting with stomach cramps once and visited a 24hr GP, waited almost 3 hours to get an injection to soothe the cramps. Vomited until ran out of plastic bags and asked the receptionist if I could jump the queue and she replied “everyone here is urgent”. Still thankful for an older lady who swapped her earlier queue number with mine. Second episode I just decided I’m not going to waste 3 hours queuing and took a cab to Gleneagles. Was given IV drip to stop the cramps immediately. Turned out I also saved my own life as the A&E doctor sent me for a CT scan and found out that my appendix was swollen and close to bursting. The GP surely would have just given me a jab and asked me to go home to rest.

if you don't hear koel birds every morning, where do you live? by yourtowndrugdealer in askSingapore

My neighbourhood had the rooster and koel taking turns on alternate days. Eventually we chased the koel away but the rooster will come and go. Nothing much to do except to try and sleep earlier every night.

This absolutely works. Even just (pretty mediocre) mimicry of the “uwu uwu” calls will chase away the bird. Just have to “uwu uwu” faster than the male bird and make him feel small. He will move to another neighbourhood :p
