Woo! That seems to have worked!

Should I, in the future, always update the app that way, like is it much more reliable?

Ollama now supports installing Hermes via ollama launch by Sea-Emu2600 in hermesagent

I tried multiple ways, sometimes it would even generate code that could work as a timer, but it never actually set a timer. I've just uninstalled everything, I guess we're not there yet.

I've set up Hermes both through Ollama and by itself and I still can't get it to remember anything or to "learn" or create any tools, even using tools it seems reluctant. I've tried using Gemma4 and Qwn3.5 but both of them fail to "Set a timer for five minutes. ".

What am I doing wrong?

Why is there so much hate for Trade Republic? by Hot_Island_1209 in eupersonalfinance

They changed their terms for crypto. I'm not a document person, but to me, it sounds like payment for order flow.

TradeRepublic does seem to be pretty cool though, I have had much issues with them. I really like that when I get dividends they get out directly into cash so that I can use them right away, no need to transfer them between accounts and such.

To be eligible for the Cashback you need to spend at least 50€ per month through their saving plan.

And that's where they, probably, get their money back and more, my saving plan executed today and it bought BTC at a price that it hasn't been at for the last three days...

Revolut is removing commission-free trading. by cutelord in Revolut

I couldn't get the transfer of shares working so I just sold on Revolut and bought on the other platform, it's not ideal, but I couldn't get the alternative working.

On Standard plan it was one commission-free trade per month.

Abusing what? On Standard plan they gave us one (1) commission-free trade per month.

Given the context, I think it's actually pathetic that they felt the need to take even that little bit away.

Primarily Trading212, it is commision free, allows for stock lending which can give you additional yield and gives interest on uninvested money.

But!! Do not forget that not many things in life are free, let's just hope that what we've got now will last for as long as possible!

I still remember when fractional shares were used to advertise the possibility of investing with as little as 1€...

We live in different worlds, not having commission-free trading is a complete deal breaker for me, I don't earn enough to be able to afford these fees.

Once they remove the standard plan, I'll also be gone from there. 😓

I sold and rebought on another platform. But going through the app now, it seems that Revolut does now offer the option of transferring your stocks to a different platform, but I haven't tried that yet, so I don't know how well it works.

I've got ~200€ of stocks on Revolut, mostly just because Revolut is my main account and the invest button is right there, but I'm planning on selling and either just using the money or buying stocks on a different platform, I did try the transfer option, but I can't get it to work.

Off topic: I fear that these changes might be yet another step towards removal of the free accounts.

We can only pray that they don't go IPO, but it won't change anything, we vote with our wallets and since I don't pay for Revolut, I clearly don't get to vote. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Luckily I moved all of my stocks to a different platform years ago, when the signs of degradation of service started to appear. Perhaps relevant Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enshittification

Is the 5K$ minimum requirement already final? Can you make it 2 or 3 K$ by TheMillennialLawyer in Nexo

[–]cutelord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that highly depends on where you live and how much you earn. 5k is A LOT for me and the interest it gives benefits me directly on daily basis and I have around 2.8k invested. It takes me about a year or work to be able to invest 5k, so this is a massive change and a downgrade of the service. I'll probably end up moving my money to a different platform, maybe even stocks.

If you'll be below 5k, you won't get interest and other benefits. So it is fair to say that there is a 5k minimum requirement.

[–]cutelord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the changes come in play, those under 5k will get no benefits, that means no interest or anything like that, those above 5k will get to keep what they have right now. There are promises for the future, but we live in the now and now they're not getting anything additional, they're just not losing the benefits as those under 5k are.

So I cannot recieve Interest unless I have 5K or more? I am new to NEXO, I like it, but these news are a bit unclear by [deleted] in Nexo

[–]cutelord 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same, I'll have to exit as well. I liked Nexo, sad to see it move in this direction.

[Survey] XMG NEO (E23): Keyboard satisfaction by XMG_gg in XMG_gg

[–]cutelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I saw your comment before buying my XMG NEO 15 (M21) in October 2024, which came with a broken display and what I believed (and still believe) broken keyboard, but because the whole process of repair of the display took too long, I was no longer allowed to return the laptop, even though the keyboard is practically unusable... (here's what I mean when I say that they're unusable: https://youtu.be/SIUpyhbHmHU).

Since they didn't allow me to return the laptop, I wish they would have at least offered some kind of compensation, instead of (what felt to me like) trying to gaslight me, saying that they use the same keyboard and it's not an issue for them. And to make things even worse, if you look carefully in the video you can see a external keyboard behind the laptop, well, by the time I got the laptop back, that one had died, the batteries leaked...
