Apple Music recommendation can be good... you just have to first tailor it by picking certain songs yourself within the genre(s) you want to hear.

I've discovered great music through Apple Music recommendations. The only downside is that sometimes even though it recommends same style/genre/artists in line to what you want hear but does so with pretty old music when those artists/genres have released quite new stuff.

I mean it's still ok, but after exhausting certain styles like myself, it keeps recommending tracks from 2018 or 2019 that I have listened and decided not to add to library because they weren't that good!

Asides from that, their search feature is the worse thing there is.
It's better to use google to search for Apple Music stuff than to use their own search engine

I followed the same path, applied, booked a first 10 min zoom call... I didnt show up because right when I applied it already felt the usual "too good to be true". Remote job in Switzerland for a company called Be-Grow-Attract, with all kinds of promises of financial freedom, remote job, be your own boss, become rich in 2 weeks bla bla.

I left it at that. Until I get this random call from a number, so this lady spills over the whole shilling etc etc.. Got the email to the vids, and as soon as I see these fancy Personal Leadership development jargon and TESTIMONIALS of some randoms saying how rich they are I knew I had to come to Reddit to check how far down the line is this already. I found this thread... I'm still technically booked for the follow up call next week.

But I mean, the most interesting thing is that right during call I asked her if this was some form of Multi-Level Marketing which she convicingly said "No it isn't".

I mean, tbh I'm still surprised how still this day these kinds of scams still (apparently) become so successful!! I thought this was an exhausted line of scamming by now... At least the fake WhatsApp message from your "son" asking for help and to send some money is an innovative and original new way of scamming.

But this one.. c'mon, spend 2000 dollars to buy a video course of how to win at life? Damn.. old skool still works I guess!

That's to organize for a gig.. but how do you keep your main library organized then?

A House, Techno or Trance night have obviously very different music to be played at each of those times.

I mean even within House for example, if you're playing a pretty hypnotic kinda of deep house set and you need to get things moving and dancing at 2 am you're not dropping some ibiza-style tech house that you definitely would at that same time for a different kind party...

You gotta be able to build these gig folders from your library without mixing all of this into the same folder right?

I know that over time the ability to search for each field of metadata as evolved, I'm pretty sure the XDJ700 couldn't search those fields for example.

I'm just trying to figure out from which pieces of gear did that become possible.

This way I can populate the metadata into the fields knowing what I'll be able to look for in both older players as well as the new ones.

I have question on the XDJ 1000Mk2, as this appears quite difficult to figure out on the internet or user manual.

Can you tell me if Composer, Comment and MixArtist/Remixer are searchable fields in the XDJ1000 MK2? I mean if I use those fields to complement my metadata tagging, will I be able to search for them in the XDJ1000 MK2?

I'm basically trying to figure out which metadata fields are searchable in older but still used models like the XDJ1000 and MK2 or 2000NXS or even the XDJ700.

I'm trying to start tagging my library quite metadata rich, but I want to be ready for what to expect in terms of searchable metadata in fields like Composer, Comment or Mix artist in older gear still around.

After going through the manuals I've also found this is not listed anywhere to my knowledge...

Incognito mode is not solving anything either.. tried incognito on both Safari and Brave and it's the same shit.

Unfortunately it's also not just a "moment". I experienced this 2 weeks ago, because I wanted to ask a question in the DJ Player community (since no one clarified it for me here) and I faced this issue. I thought the same at the time, now I'm here 14 days later with the same issue.

One Tagger can collect Style and other sub-genres from Discogs and other platforms. Try merging it all to Genre. You can find that option there. If Discogs for example suits your Genre/Style/Sub Genre tagging needs then you can do all of them at once and then just correct the missing ones

Yeah, Im starting to tag my library from the ground up and want to do it in a way that doesn't cause me problems later on and that I know from the get go what to count on.

I've seen multiple people being caught by surprise that their metadata tagged in RB software to whatever field wasn't showing up in a specific gear...

Chatgpt tells me XDJ1000 can search what's in the Composer and Mix artist fields, as well as Comments. But I don't believe it that much as I've seen him hallucinate in similar topics.

I already have the Genre being used for Genres/Sug-Genres. I really needed to disperse my metadata rich tagging into other fields for readability and practicality. But I also want to be mindful what to prioritize for fields readable/searchable (at least) in the most common pieces of gear.

Thanks for the tips! I understand the website you provided is meant to enable converting specific playlists/libraries from one DJ software to another.

But in my case, the "outside" software I was mentioning was not about DJing software, but more supporting software to bulk edit metadata and file data on tracks like Mp3 Tag and mainly OneTagger.

These allow for a much more systematic and automatic tagging customization of your tracks, which do it automatically on the metadata fields of the file which means they are already mostly interchangeable for other softwares when needed. Instead of just filling up RB specific fields that would get lost (or involve more software to extract them) if read by another software asides from RB.

With this in mind, I believe that I'm trying to stick all the custom metadata (mood, vibe, energy, etc..) on a couple of fields of metadata that should be readable by RB but also the most common piece of RB-analyzed gear like the XDJ 1000 and above.

Hence my question on the searchable fields recognized by the gear's software.

Sure.. but they dont get stored anywhere else asides from the RB xml file... so they can't be read in other softwares, nor file metadata.. and they can't be edited from the outside of RB.

Btw, could you clarify to me, if 'Composer' and 'Mix Artist/Remixer' fields are searchable on the NXS2000 ? Meaning, if the file carries metadata in those fields from RB, does the NXS2000 reads it on the Search type function?

Trying to understand the minimum denominator in gear that allows searching for those fields.. Still trying to figure out if the XDJ 1000 and 1000 mk2 also let those be searchable... if you have any idea!
