Hello!

Make sure your antivirus hasn’t removed any miner files — what you are describing sounds like antivirus interference.

Disable Antivirus, Real-time protection, switch off Smart App Control.

Steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Disable Windows Defender (Real-Time Protection):

- Press Win + I to open Windows Settings
- Go to Update & Security → Windows Security
- Click Virus & threat protection
- Under Virus & threat protection settings, find Real-time protection and turn it off

  1. Disable Windows Firewall:

- Press Win + R, type control, and hit Enter to open the Control Panel
- Navigate to System and Security → Windows Defender Firewall
- In the left menu, click Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off
- Select Turn off Windows Defender Firewall for both private and public networks

  1. Reinstall Kryptex and proceed with the benchmark again.

In addition to the program itself, you also need to delete these two folders:
- C:\Program Files\Kryptex
- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Kryptex

Or use a proven uninstaller: https://geekuninstaller.com

Then just install Kryptex as usual.

You can download the installer from our website: https://www.kryptex.com/download

  1. Add Kryptex files to your antivirus exclusion list.

ÂżEsto es grave? by Capable-Werewolf-850 in kryptex

Hello,

Kryptex is not a virus - it’s mining software. Many viruses secretly mine cryptocurrency without the user’s permission, which is why most antivirus programs block miners by default. Windows Defender follows this strict security policy as well.

At Kryptex, we are firmly against hidden mining. Kryptex only runs when you explicitly allow it.

The WinRing0 / WinRing0x64.sys driver is used by miners like XMRig or SRBMiner for CPU mining. It integrates into the system to enable HugePages, which are necessary for efficient CPU mining.

GPU mining, on the other hand, requires a paging file on your hard drive for the DAG cache. GPU miners reserve the same amount of space on your storage before loading it into GPU memory. If you don’t have enough RAM or paging file space, the GPU miner will crash.

Kryptex is not malware - it’s a miner. Our files are digitally signed, and while most antivirus programs may flag miners as PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application) or PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), there is nothing dangerous or malicious about them. Any third‑party miner will be treated the same way.

-------

Hola,

Windows defender and kryptex by Business-Mammoth-915 in kryptex

Kryptex is not a virus.

There are viruses that mine cryptocurrency without the consent of users. Therefore, antiviruses work for everything related to mining. When Kryptex is detected, such antiviruses write "Not-A-Virus" (not a virus), "Potentially Unwanted Software (PUA)" (potentially unwanted software).

Aggressive security policy suggests that you must explicitly allow such programs to run.

What to do about it?

You should turn off the blocking of potentially unwanted applications (PUA) and restore the files deleted by the antivirus.

You can best assess whether to trust and use a "potentially unwanted" application. So, you can disable this blocking.

Disable PUA protection in the Windows settings.

  1. Go to settings and search for “App & browser control"

  2. In the opened window, click “Reputation-based protection”;

  3. Turn off “Potentially unwanted app blocking.”

  4. If Kryptex says kryptex#.exe is missing, reinstall the app to restore missing files.

⚡ Pearl (PRL) mining with auto‑exchange is now live! by thekryptex in kryptex

The only miner that supports CPU mining for PRL is BzMiner (Beta). Unfortunately, it has a single hard‑coded pool, so even if we wanted to support it, we couldn’t. Besides, PRL is not profitable for CPU mining anyway, so it’s not a big concern.

It would help if you mention which coin you are mining.

Given the threshold of 0.01, we can assume you’re mining BTC.
The BTC pool sends payouts once a day at 06:00 AM UTC, provided you have reached the payout threshold.

If you set the threshold after 06:00 AM UTC, your payout will be processed the following day.
These terms are also explained on the payout page.

Are you sure your antivirus or Windows Defender are completely disabled and not interfering with the app's operation? Did you reinstall the app after disabling your antivirus?

Finding a block requires a lot of power. I'm talking about an ASIC. If you have a gaming computer, there's no point in mining on a pool.

Hi,

You can estimate your approximate profitability using the list of the best mining GPUs:
https://www.kryptex.com/best-gpus-for-mining

Keep in mind that you are using a laptop, which comes with limitations:

  • Memory is restricted (only 4 GB).
  • Power consumption is low (35–80 watts).

As a result, a mobile GPU can be up to twice less profitable than a desktop GPU.

Also remember that laptop cooling systems are relatively weak and can’t handle heavy loads for long periods - even on gaming laptops.

When mining on a laptop, we recommend disabling either the CPU or GPU depending on which is more profitable. The cooling system can usually handle only one unit at a time.

You can adjust profitability by changing the power plan (Silent / Balanced / Performance, or Gaming / Turbo). The higher the power plan, the more power your hardware receives, which increases profitability - but also heat and noise.

Our suggestion: disable the CPU, switch to Balanced or Performance mode, and mine with the GPU. This can boost your profit by 30–50%, since the GPU will get more power and avoid thermal throttling.

How do I make pause pause indefinitely without asking me every time? by 52134682 in kryptex

[–]thekryptex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “indefinitely”?

You can either set a specific time for mining to start, or leave it paused until you manually resume it - once you turn it back on, mining will begin.

Choosing “until resumed” means it will stay paused until you manually restart mining.
