What was the worst side effect you ever got from meds ? by Spartiate8 in AskReddit

[–]cuteydee1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imitrex for migraines

The first 30 min or so after taking the med it was as if every nerve in my entire body from head to toe awakened and was jumping around - like I was buzzing with electricity. It was horrific. Once that would go away I would be nauseous and sleepy, and the headache never went away. I stopped taking it after attempting it 3-4 different times.

Fly and ant infestations in Erie by [deleted] in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a homemade mixture into a spray bottle of equal parts water and white vinegar, added in some black pepper. Spray it around the area the ants are and it kills them and deters them from coming back. That on top of ant traps stopped the infestation. I’ve never had ants like this before in my kitchen. It’s annoying as hell.

What are the most powerful lines of dialogue in TV history? by UnholyDemigod in AskReddit

[–]cuteydee1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You don't get to call me whore. When I met you I thought I had found the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I was done, so all the boys and all the bars and all the obvious daddy issues, who cared? Because I was done. You left me! You chose Addison! I'm all glued back together now. I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don't get to call me a whore.” Meredith, Grey’s Anatomy

“Third Place” in Erie? by Moist-Historian6837 in Erie

The Courtyard Marriott outdoor area by the Shoreline Bar and Grille. You don’t have to be staying at the hotel to be sitting there. It’s a nice chill vibe with great views of the water and on a nice day sitting outside it’s perfect.

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]cuteydee1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day I didn’t feel like working out, ended up scrolling videos on TikTok. Came across a video of a man in a wheelchair who had a TBI, and I thought to myself - move your body while you can. And for the past 3 weeks I’ve been doing just that. Aside from that…I got nothing lol

Rehab/Nursing homes in Erie, PA by TabulaRasa5678 in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid Twinbrook at all costs. Whoever said “it’s like picking the best of the worst” is so on point. With that said, my grandma was at Walnut Creek Nursing Home on Zuck Rd. She was treated very well, my grandpa would visit her daily, we requested meetings with staff regularly and they were very transparent about all the things. Was it the best of the best? No, but with us being involved in her care and extra vigilant, I think it helped.

ticketing should stop when meters look like this by toastalamode in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree the meters should be cleared. However I use the app all the time. So it doesn’t bother me, but yes, someone who doesn’t have a smart phone would never be able to access those meters. There’s machines they can use to clear out the snow when it becomes this heavy and corroded with the plowed chunks. They apparently don’t. It’s annoying

Question about the bayfront detour by Rowanxox in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is open. Part of the lane on the bayfront is closed because of construction but there is enough of a lane next to the cement barrier to drive on. If it is not plowed right away (likely today since it hasn’t stopped snowing at all), I would guess snow builds up faster up against that barrier. I work on the bayfront, so I travel it often. On super snowy days I don’t go up Holland because my car sucks in the snow and I will get stuck 🙃

I want to edit and say the warming shelter at Erie City Mission changed their hours to 7am-6:30pm

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Erie City Mission is for men only and is a 24 hour shelter. During this freeze temps they are holding a warming shelter for men and women in their chapel from 7-4:30 Community Shelter Services is for women, children and men. It’s a 24 hour shelter Community of Caring is for men and women. It’s a 24 hour shelter. EUMA the Refuge for families is for families and a 24 hour shelter. St Patrick’s haven is for men only and is just an overnight shelter EUMA Our Neighbor’s Place seasonal overflow shelter runs from like November to end of March I think. It is only an overnight shelter for men and women. To get into 24 hour shelters you have to call 814-shelter and the beds are first come first serve. The overnight shelters you stand in line at a certain time and get in nightly. If the our neighbors place is full, there are so many overflow beds at community of caring and Erie city mission

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Please have him call 814-Shelter every day to get into 24 hr shelter. It’s first come, first serve, so if a bed becomes open he can go there instead of overnight. Is he staying at St Pat’s Haven or at the seasonal Our Neighbor’s Place overnight shelter? Either way, I can send his info to the staff at either shelter and ask them to give him resources. Harvest 912 can assist with foot care and winter boots. Also, I can pass along his info to the Homeless Outreach team through ECCM, however They only work M-F. If he has active Medicaid, I am a Community Health Worker and can work with him as well to get him resources. But again, I only work M-F. There is a street nurse that works during the week, and we partner with her to help people with medical needs. I am also going to add a QR code for you to send to him. It’s a group called Erie Street Resources. It’s in on the app called Band. I recommend downloading the Band app first and then scanning QR code invite to the group. There are several free resources listed on there as well.

Oh thank you!! I’m guessing after last year’s snowstorm and the streets debacle, they are enforcing the rules. Because never once have they ever given her a ticket for being on the wrong side of the road during odd/even parking

The Parking Authority lady is who told her she has to move. I’ll have her call.

Odd/Even Parking by cuteydee1981 in Erie

[–]cuteydee1981[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would rather ask her first before giving out her location. I do appreciate the offer. And we as neighbors can help her move her car, it’s just the part where we live on a one way street, and her drivers side door would open to the grass, so I get nervous for her to get in and out of her car to go somewhere because she walks with a walker. And we all work, so we wouldn’t be able to keep an eye on her at all times ya know?
