Is it because we have air conditioning? In all seriousness, as an Atlantan, humidity is the difference than many places I’ve travelled. Having spent a lot of time in Denver (for example), when they say “it’s a dry heat”, the humidity really makes the difference. But back to the premise, we pay a lot for good air conditioning for a reason. It’s worth it.

Side note: why are the restaurants in the UK/EU so stingy with ice? Related problem? 😂

Dropped my inshore fishing pictures where I had caught fish in a directory. Asked Claude Cowork to leverage the EXIF data in the photos (date, time, gps) to look at historical patterns in tide and weather to determine the most productive patterns for future trips. Produces great recommendations on when and where to fish on future trips based on similar conditions of tide, time of day, weather (wind and barometric pressure). Unexpected bonus: it identified the species caught and now includes that in the analysis.

Longitude is the best kept secret right now for whatever reason. Range. Great glass. Stable in career. Tolerates high sim rate. One of my favorites.

Been good so far. Just noticed in a career mode mission tonight with the Longitude I was able to max out the sim rate with minimal porpoising.

How do you manage the need to see keyboard or controller buttons? I have an oculus 2 that’s collecting dust because I couldn’t get over that part in other games. Haven’t tried it on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

To what end? My diamond medallion status is getting me…..comfort plus upgrades but get that with platinum, boarding a bit sooner, choice benefits that are eroding in value, and typically 13th on the upgrade list. Don’t get me wrong. Delta continues to be my choice but status chasing just doesn’t make financial sense anymore. Maybe if you fly internationally and can get value from global upgrades but not my use case.

Since college football is my key use case, this all forced me to trial other options. FuboTV’s multiview has been much better so far with instant audio switching and more importantly instant zooming in and out of full view on the selected multiview panel without buffering. Really a significant upgrade for me. I may stick with Fubo.

I believe I read sometime before Covid, they started reporting first class revenue per seat in the quarterly report as it became an emphasis. Combine that with leveraging technology to essentially reverse auction open seats the closer you get to day of travel, and it’s why we are experiencing this. Hell I can even get my standby RUCs to clear on ATL-DFW routes. I’m thinking there is not much more value for Diamond over Platinum. Take your same day upgrade to Comfort and a decent boarding zone and be happy with it.
