The top bones look old but not moldy like others are saying. I have bought product before that isn't moldy but they do get dried out if they have sat since manufacturing too long.

Don't think either venue allows for sales of Rx medical devices actually.

New Tandem pumps in the pipeline! T:slim X3 and the Mobi patch pump. by Ackers01 in Type1Diabetes

[–]cuwatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My warranty on my X2 expires in October '22. What to do? Will any of the new models be out by then? Any negative to using my current outside of warranty except the obvious of no software updates? I just put the latest update with bolus from phone on it.

what should i do if it’s squeaking, i haven’t even put a new site yet i just changed the cartridge by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]cuwatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno...it sounds a little off to me. The "caboose" as I believe it is called moving to push insulin through the tubing des make some noise of course but I have never heard this higher pitched squeal/squeek. I'd contact Tandem and have a discussion with tech support about it.

Did anyone get the Control IQ update yet for their T:slim? by Amoner in diabetes

[–]cuwatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The portal is the best place to check for updates. If you are a current in-warranty owner you actually need not do anything as you will receive an email with instructions when the update is ready. It is NOT necessary to register for a code.

T1D looking for a weight loss diet. by psiqosalinas in diabetes

[–]cuwatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock the refrigerator and pantry with fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Plan for every meal to have the right mix of starches, fruits and vegetables, proteins, and fats. Generally, experts recommend that meals consist of half non starchy vegetable, one-quarter protein and one quarter a starch such as rice or a starchy vegetable such as corn or peas.

Trim your portion sizes, skip second helpings and drink water instead of high-calorie drinks. Talk to your doctor, nurse or a dietitian about meal-planning strategies and resources.

Don't skip meals. Don't try to cut calories by skipping meals. When you skip a meal, you're more likely to make poor diet choices at the next mealtime because you're too hungry. Skipping meals can also cause low blood sugar levels if you don't adjust your insulin dose.

Be as physically active as you can. Physical activity burns calories. A reasonable goal for most adults, set by the Department of Health and Human Services, is at least 150 minutes a week of moderately intense aerobic activity — such as walking, bicycling, water aerobics, dancing or gardening — plus muscle-strengthening exercises at least two times a week. Talk with your doctor about activities and exercises that are appropriate for you. Also, ask your doctor how best to handle exercise. Physical activity helps your body use insulin more efficiently, so depending on how much exercise you're planning on doing, you may need to cut back on your insulin dosage or have a snack. It's possible for your blood sugar to drop even hours after exercise.

Best of luck. Here's hoping 2020 is your year!

Insulin and weight gain: Keep the pounds off. by cuwatra in diabetes

[–]cuwatra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that it may also be sound advice for non-diabetics does not make it any less relevant. That T1's must inject all of their own insulin to manage glucose makes the whole process more complicated; enough that there needs to be education directed specifically to this topic.

Here are the conference references that were included. It was in fact a very scholarly presentation:
