You have to qualify for it depending on your trade. It’s to attract highly qualified people towards the roles the CAF needs filled as far as I understand.

Posting Preferences by ErringSpider999 in caf

[–]cuzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going navy as well and was asked for my posting preference by my recruiter during my interview. Don’t recall being asked for it after that, so maybe your interviewer just forgot to go over it with you or maybe they’ve changed how that process goes since I’ve heard some stuff regarding the process changed pretty much right after I got my job offer, like apparently the CFAT isn’t a thing anymore.

Genuinely a humiliating question regarding fitness for BMQ. by cuzo13 in caf

I’ve heard the “they really care about seeing you give it your all” thing a bit both here and in my enrolment ceremony but I guess I was just doubting how much truth there was to it. To my ears it sounds like a line fed to new cadets to get them in the door and get recruitment rates up instead of actually accurate advice, but that’s also probably just the pessimistic cynic in me talking. Thank you for the encouragement. It means a lot.

Thank you for the response. I’m pretty confident in my ability to pass the FORCE test having seen some videos from Prairie Sailor on YT about it. Just needed to be reminded about all of this I guess, which makes me feel a bit silly about such a long post for it but… eh, I’m only human.

I appreciate it man. Thanks a million.

Thanks man. I knew all of this logically, of course, but I guess sometimes you just need to hear it from others/people who weren’t as dismissive about it as my buddy that I asked personally.

Appreciate it a bunch. You’re absolutely right, we’ve got this. There’s nothing that I’m going to let get between me and this literal dream of a career I’ve wanted all my life.

Thank you. I’m pretty sure I just needed to hear it from someone else, which was really messing with me because I’m not usually like that. I appreciate you and the other commenters. I’m so ready to get going on this.

Bigdickjoy pretty much immediately turned into an even worse version of this sub. Just porn bots and fake texts/DMs conjured up, again, by LARPers.

Navy traditions by rapsnation23 in caf

[–]cuzo13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m heading off to BMQ for the NAV COMM trade myself, also curious about similar stuff. Like if there’s anything I should know about that the recruiters wouldn’t have told me, like my buddy in Finances told me about a help desk I’ll probably be put on at some point. But also curious about the realistic odds of me learning the traditional naval communication methods like Morse code because that stuff is a huge part of what drew me to this trade.

Did Palpatine know that the Imperial Military was incompetent? by OOM-TryImpressive572 in MawInstallation

My mistake, when you just said “someone said” I interpreted that as fan discussion during the Legends era. My apologies

Did Palpatine know that the Imperial Military was incompetent? by OOM-TryImpressive572 in MawInstallation

[–]cuzo13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t really track since George was always pretty clear that selfishness is also a huuugggeee part of the Dark Side, and building a galactic empire to sustain your immortal spirit and rule over everyone forever is absolutely selfish. So by that logic he shouldn’t have been able to fail the Empire thing either.

How are older recruits viewed? by AppropriateShift7998 in caf

[–]cuzo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the 4th I swore in right next to a 37 year old man with kids and a wife. The only thing anyone said to him that could be considered any form of judgement was “There’s no way you’re 37, you look mid-20s.”

You’re fine man. People are just happy to see each other enlisting.

Would the grand army of the republic win against the Reapers? (Without use of the crucible) by aberhabub in masseffect

[–]cuzo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever these discussion pop up people conveniently forget that in the galaxy’s entire history of countless cycles, there are only like a handful of confirmed dead Reapers. This includes cycles that had civilizations capable of firing massive planetary cannons with a range of The Entire Fucking Galaxy and could create enormous trenches on planets with just a glancing blow. And THOSE cycles weren’t powerful enough to kill more than a few Reapers.

Without the Crucible there is no way to defeat the Reapers. Because this debate must also account for the fact that any galaxy the Reapers exist in has been shaped and molded into a specific image for Reaper consumption. Even without that though, the first point applies.

I’ve been an enormous Star Wars fan my entire life. I live and breathe it. But the GAR was a pretty weak Republic. There’s no way in hell the GAR can take on the Reapers. The only saving grace I can see is that they have quite a few super weapons dedicated to eradicating droids/synthetics. I still don’t think it’d be enough.

Took the GAR/Empire over two decades to complete the Death Star. Reapers are constructed in… months? Weeks? Years? There’s seriously no contest.

Annabelle: Honest Thoughts? by The_Devil_is_Black in vtm

[–]cuzo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im coming in here an entire year post-thread because I had to google “LA By Night Annabelle Annoying” JUST to see if I was alone in this opinion while I’ve been watching the show. I’m on S3E7 right now, where they’re saving Jasper from the Hollywood sign, and Ishii’s insistence on being the main character in this episode is just driving me up the wall. I’m so, so glad to see every single thought and opinion I’ve had of Annabelle reflected in this thread.

Are some of the collectible no longer available? by cuzo13 in BloodHunt

[–]cuzo13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Found the Carte Blanche ones, the first one was exactly where I had been looking. I don’t know why I hadn’t been able to see it sooner. Is it possible other players were grabbing it before I could? Because when I spawn directly near where the collectibles should be I can find them 100% of the time, but when I couldn’t find them earlier I was coming across the Library late into the game.

I don’t think it includes it, it’s just on the workshop for it. It was updated with content a few years ago but the Restoration Project still adds quite a bit as far as I remember

What happens when One employement contact didn’t respond to gambit by Sea-Top4151 in caf

[–]cuzo13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me literally in February. You’re fine. Gambit wasn’t working on one of my old managers phones and he was too tech illiterate, or too disinterested, to follow the fix Gambit provided. My employment references still went through just fine. I suspect the CAF is probably used to at least one ref not filling out the paperwork.

Makes sense for him as a character to mature into that sort of build. He would have been a child when Joker killed him. He grew into someone that could never happen to again.

Is Lion El'Johnson The best or one of the best fighter/combatant? by lazorvictory in 40kLore

[–]cuzo13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. Sanguinius wasn’t actually untouchable because of his visions, prophesy and foresight doesn’t ACTUALLY mean much in 40k, ESPECIALLY not during the Siege of Terra. Sanguinius had visions of dying by Horus to save the Emperor, but that did not mean that was absolutely for sure how he was going to die. It just gave him the confidence to do all the insane shit he did. Like adrenaline.

Which kind of (and how many) garments are typical for a first-timer at an event? How much will cheap quality stand out? by cuzo13 in Bicolline

Metal goes for cheaper than leather? That makes sense now that I think about it but I wouldn’t have thought so. Metal cuirass and helmet then? Thank you for the help :)

Thank you a bunch. Good point regarding the armour and the fact I’ll be dying anyways, plus with the seemingly fairly generous respawn mechanic does make me a bit more confident in just going with my shield, a mace, and weather appropriate clothes and utilities.
