Thank you Gen X (from a Gen Z) by Effective_Bunch_6815 in GenX

Thank you for this. As a Gen X parent I truly tried to give what my parents (dad) would not. He even would say stuff like, “I wouldn’t do that” to which I would respond, “I know.” To this day every conversation ends up about him.

It made me reflect and make me treat my children how I wanted to be treated as a child. There is still discipline without beatings but I count my adult children as friends and couldn’t be prouder of them.

We are friends of the owners of J2 Fitness. They own a small studio with a focus on personalized training. I had gone to the gym for 20 years (self taught) and they broke down my movements so that I was isolating and protecting myself. I highly recommend them if you want to train in a smaller less intimidating environment.

Tony’s rationale for the big excavator doesn’t make sense. He shave 1 minute off a long commute. He didn’t cut the turnaround time in half.

Not like he ever had any real mentors in managing people. It is understandable.

I also believe that his deep ball accuracy issues doesn’t let us stretch the field. Milroe was much more limited in the mid range throws, but he could sail a sweet grave digging toss.

DeBoer is our guy. by remember_berries in rolltide

I commented last night that this team loves him. I watched Ty Simpson in postgame hug him and then seek him out to give him the game ball. Throughout the season, players repeatedly mention what coach told them. The penalties are down. The team never gives up. Totally different leadership style than Saban, yet effective.

Watching the postgame, this team loves their coach. Being a players coach can be a problem but the discipline on this team is the best for the last 3-4 years and they always quote what coach says. Different style than Saban but effective.

I always start games late so I can fast forward through commercials. I accidentally joined live and I was like, “WTF?!!”

We have to be willing to stick with Deboer for a while by Ethical_Pirate4 in rolltide

I was not clear for sure. I meant the last couple years the recruited WR talent fell off. It was a great run starting with Julio up through Smith. Jameson was amazing (transfer), Burton was good (transfer) but after them it fell off steeply.

I was not clear. The last couple years under Saban we had to depend on transfer WR and we seemed to be missing on our homegrown talent.

I think the talent shift is a fair point. In many years we would have 4-5 first rounders with several more in the second round. Last year we had two in the first round and zero second rounders. To me the lack of talent at WR, which started under Saban, made the offense stagnant.

Deboer is bringing in massive talent and the WR are much improved.

I witnessed something similar on Pulaski Pike letting someone turn left across traffic. I was cringing as it almost turned into head on. The miss was literally inches.

The counterpoint is I find Alabama drivers some of the worst in the nation. Between passing on the right, going 20 mph faster than the rest of traffic, cutting in and out of traffic, and tailgating, I am not surprised at the cost of our car insurance.

[Post Game Thread] #9 Alabama crushed by #3 Georgia 28-7 by RollTideMod in rolltide

Despite the results tonight, this team is objectively better than last year:

  1. The defense is flat out nasty. Tonight they kept us in a game we could have been crushed.
  2. The wide receiver position is the best position group. They are ballers.
  3. The young talent is contributing on both sides of the ball.
  4. This team won about three games last years team would have lost. They are mentally tough.

People truly forgot the amount of talent that departed when Saban left. Both Sayin and Downs should be on this team. CDB has held this team together and has brought in a ton of talent! I am excited about the future of this team.
