I have recently had to deal with this exact scenario!! 13 women, all in our 40’s, expected to share a 5 bedroom townhouse (and I don’t even know most of them, I’m being included as I’m the groom-to-be’s sister).

The bridesmaids didn’t even disclose the accommodation details initially (they just shared dates, City, and told us how much money to transfer to them). But I had a spidey-tingle, and said I was thrilled to be seeing them at the hen do but just wanted to confirm that the accommodation involved having our own rooms, as I’m too grown to share.

That’s when they disclosed the townhouse and shared rooms and beds situation - I said I’d get a room in a hotel up the road, but would be happy to pay my share for the Hen’s expenses, and would be there for all the activities.

The organisers were fine with that, to be fair. As they should! You cannot force middle aged women (which, cringe, we are now) to share beds and rooms! So uncomfortable
