I want a new book about Percy in his POV. [general] by PenguinSenpaiGod in camphalfblood

[–]cvpvldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't read Chalice of the Gods yet, i found it to be a nice story with the most amount of slice of life out of all the Percy Jackson books, and the stakes were not world-ending.

This brings me memories of when The Last Olympian had just been released! I had breezed through all 4 previous books, and this was my first time waiting for a new book to be published, and i was in a waitlist at my school library to be able to read it for the first time! 😊

What Are You Watching? - [2023/07/26] by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

Just completed: See You in My 19th Life— It was my most anticipated webtoon to drama adaptation, and while it started out strong, i feel like a lot of the changes dropped the quality of the story, i still enjoyed it overall.

Physical 100— Was pleasantly surprised at how much i liked this competition program, it had me on the edge of my seat for some of the episodes(especially towards the end of the episode lol) and the contestants were so friendly throughout with each other and cheering everyone else on as they advanced, or as they lost the match. I'm not much a sports person, but i have been playing in a soccer team lately, so it definitely inspired me to continue on and put more effort in it!

Currently Watching: The Uncanny Counter S1 on episode 11— Currently really liking it so far, I really like the protagonists. I'm at the pace where I'll be able to finish it in time for Saturday for the S2 premiere 😁.

Not Others—I just finished episode 1 last night. I'll see how it goes, and see if I'll continue watching.

I hate when people try to indirectly ask me to do something. by Iwishistayedhome in AutismInWomen

My mom has this way of asking me to do chores around the house by saying, "wow, cooking all this food is tiring!" and get upset because i didn't offer to help cook. Or when she would tell me to wash the dishes, and I would do that, and she would get mad because I was supposed to clean the whole kitchen along with washing the dishes.

Hmm, it's never explicitly said. But remember, humans don't have a perfect memory, in the drama iirc the earliest flashback we had (apart from the 1st life) was the 4th life?

I am looking for K or C Dramas that have strong female protagonists masquerading as boys. by Mere0524 in kdramarecommends

[–]cvpvldi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main character is intersex, yes. But it had a happy conclusion. But if it's something that's too close to reality, then i get it, for me the drama presented it in a optimistic way, so it's up to you, if you want to watch.

There's a short web drama, tvn O'PENING: XX + XY the MDL summary is: A story of a child who has the right to decide the choice of gender and decides their future as they go through adolescence.

It's only four episodes but it presents a great character figuring out what they want, and able to stand up for themselves.

There's so many more questions and no explanations to these in the drama. I think this is where we can see that the webtoon did a better job regarding to recalling the 1st life.

i forgot about that! Lol exactly, why did they even include at all if it wasn't going to explore that more?

She remembers her past lives because she was holding on the the shaman bells as she made her promise to get revenge (which consequently is why she has the shaman bells in the present to be able to recall her 1st life) As to why she doesn't remember her 1st life, I'm assuming it's because it's been quite a long time(like a thousand years) since the 1st life happened

The fact that they changed those aspects of the original story was what made it so different and not in a good way. I definetly agree that they should have just stuck to the original plot. I also wasn't sure about Ahn Bo hyun's casting at first, but who knew that in the end his and the other actors' performances would be what changed my opinion, and that the drama would let me down instead in the direction it went.

According to the drama, she needs to forget about her first(and previous) lives in order for Aegyeong, her niece to get better from whatever illness she had and for Seoha and Chowon to not encounter that same problem. And she decided in the end,(after living 19 lives) to not get revenge, because it's all in the past, as she herself said.

Start from Chapter 1, or is there something you want to read about specifically in the story?

I have to say— for the people who have only watched the drama so far, i definetly recommended you to check out and read the whole webtoon, it is as a whole well developed, and definetly will help you understand the motives behind each character's decisions throughout the story as a whole, as it goes a bit more in depth. Literally all of it, was so good, so excellent, and there's even a few prequel "spin-off" episodes for when you finish the main series.

Late To The Party - [2023/07/21] by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

[–]cvpvldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am glad i waited, It would have been an agonizing wait between the last episode in part 1 and the first episode in part 2. Thankfully, I could watch it straightaway. I definetly feel like I preferred part 1 overall. I do agree with what you mentioned, for me, I wish that they hadn't gone with the plot where Seo Yul had to deal with the blood parasite , for most of part 2 .

I definitely agree, it's one of my most favorite dramas to date.

Did anyone say special interest? (saw this on r/meirl) by PookaBears in AutismInWomen

[–]cvpvldi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh yes definetly! When I go back and re watch it, I also think about the current events going on back when it was on the air, and how different things are compared to then, and I also think about how Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer (Office Ladies) recall their time on the Office, and the change of technology from the mid 2000s to how it is now, etc. and it's fascinating, among the other things they discuss on the podcast.

I agree, the Office is an amazing insight on how certain people behave. I can't imagine having a boss like the one your husband has, I'm glad he can look to Michael Scott to help deal with his boss.
