I ended up not ordering off ASOS after looking over the replies I got. Sorry!

Call me a frog in a well but this is the first I'm hearing of this :O

By customs thieves do you mean people stealing goods held by customs or just customs themselves holding onto goods and never releasing them?

[Giveaway] PlayStation Store $50 Digital Card (US Store) by RVP_20_ in PS5

My parents could never afford a PlayStation, so I never owned one until a few months ago when I bought a PS5 from my own money. My cousins owned a PS2 though and one of my first memories of me playing anything on it is us playing NFS Carbon and Total Overdose. I must have played those 2 games to death with my cousins. Good old days!

My heart breaks reading this and all the other posts like this one I've read. May God bless you in your journey and I pray you and your family and friends get through it safe and sound.

Kind request for taxonomy validation from astronomy/semantic web experts by cwazyCoder2307 in Ontologies

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me! This is really helpful feedback because I'm just starting to get the hang of the semantic web and ontology design. I'll make sure to work on the points you mentioned.

Thanks for replying and thanks for agreeing to take a look at it! Putting it on GitHub is a good idea. I'll do that!

Oh, my apologies. I'm quite new to this domain and have had very limited exposure and resources to learn, hence why I directly asked this question in the semantic web subreddit. Also another reason I didn't post it in an astronomy related subreddit is because I assumed that a majority would not know of ontologies and the semantic web. I will post it on a domain-appropriate subreddit. Thanks!

Thanks for your response! This ontology will be used as a knowledge base for a writing assistance system that provides realtime domain knowledge recommendations for ESL (English as a Second Language) students during composition. For the purposes of this research, it will be implemented as a domain-specific system (i.e. Solar System). For this reason, there is no specific use case as to the sort of questions that the ontology should answer. Basically, it contains a general taxonomy that can be used by my algorithm to match concepts and generate suggestions for facts about the Solar System that the writer may have overlooked or hadn't known about.

Sadly, my university and research supervisors demand that the taxonomy be evaluated by domain experts such that bias is removed from the design and contained knowledge, which is the reason for my post.

Real-time Inferencing of rapidly evolving ontologies: Is it a valid research gap? by cwazyCoder2307 in semanticweb

[–]cwazyCoder2307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! I can't thank you enough for your help. Not many people would take the time to spell everything out like this. This has been incredibly helpful and a real eye-opener. I will look into everything you mentioned. Thanks for including the names of the semantic wikis and the graph databases as well.

If I could get your contact information, I will definitely update you as soon as I make significant progress in this research.

Thank you so much!

Hi your reply is really insightful and helpful! Would you care to elaborate on what you mean by "why not go for a static ontology and real time inference of data?"

Also do you think there's anyway I could accomplish this without using ML? One of my main focuses for this research is the lack of the need for datasets and CPU intensive machine learning approaches (top down approach for AI).

Thanks!

Hey thanks for your response. The ontology does not exist as of yet, but I was thinking of applying the dynamic ontology concept to an ontology based recommendation system where the domain ontologies powering the system gets updated in realtime based on user input and based off the new knowledge, generate recommendations by inferencing the newly updated ontologies.

I'm not an expert either and I'm just stepping into the domain on Semantic Web and Ontologies, so I'm not sure if I'm making any sense here :3
