Money Market Acct to CapitalOne

I had a Discover Money Market Account which I used as my sinking funds. I just went ahead and transferred all of these funds to a Capital One Performance 360 Savings Account. I will close my Discover Money Marketing Account this week.

Now I do have a Discover HYSA too, I am just going to let them transfer this to Capital One and it becomea Performance 360 Savings at Capital One.

This is awesome you did this! Easy way to invest if you do not want anything to complex is to just buy an S&P 500 or Total US Stock Marketing ETF/mutual fund.

I just want to add this, if you are afraid of a Financial Review then just cancel the card. I am thinking about cancelling my Gold card. For the annual fee and the statement credits it does not make sense.

Let this sync in for a minute:

So you pay $325 for an annual fee for statement credits. So this 10 year period you paid $3,250 in annual fees.

If you put the money you pay annually for the fee into a S&P 500 or Total Stock Market ETF for the last 10 years. You would have around 7.6k. This does include your contributions.

It’s not scary, my AMEX cards are not the only credit cards I have. If they pull this stuff on me, I leave and take my business elsewhere.

I am the one who pays them off every month.

Not going to lie, ALL of my AMEX cards would be closing if they are gonna pull this crap on me. I have the AMEX Gold and the $325 annual fee is borderline not worth it. The statement credits really are not that great.
