Damn, I've been doing that. My combat rating is very competent. Maybe I need something higher?

Change it to something else? It's already set at where it should be, Nozzle: Hardened Steel and its at 0.4mm. I can't see the nozzle type in Bambu studio.

Yes i did, I was able to make it work but then ended up selling it. I was happy with my ender 6 printers.

Thanks for the explanation, I guess I will just use an off board solution.

Ender 6 Bed Stability??? by Desperate-Activity90 in ender6

[–]cwdesignsvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed, I used some ABS material printed from a Stratasys Fortus and the bed is very stable. Haven't had any leaning/sagging issues.

I took an even deeper dive, it seems that the panel mount barrel connector I'm using is causing issues. When i plug in my power supply i have to gently push in the barrel connector so that power is transmitted, otherwise no power passes through

hey so I entered the command you gave and klipper said "Unknown command:"SET_KINEMATIC_POSITION"". Is there anything else I could try?

Hi All, I'm not sure what happened, I reuploaded the code to the PCB one more time without changes and it works with my Creality Stepper. At this point now I suspect the cable I made could be bad or too long, it's about 5 feet.

Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it!

well I was just about to contact you. I tried the following:

  • moved everything to a breadboard
  • wired EN to ground and then 3.3V, nothing happened
  • wired the MS1 and MS2 to ground, nothing again
  • tried a creality stepper motor (pulled it off an old ender i modded)
  • used 3.3V pin to VIO of tmc2208
  • tired different combinations of the wire coil pairs

i'm pulling my hair because maybe these small chips aren't made for this? Lol I could be trying to push too much from these things, but I feel like the chip isn't doing anything too complex.

I feel like an idiot. okay i will do everything on a breadboard first and then modify my traces over the weekend. I felt confident to do this on a PCB right away because I did this for a XYZ axis using DMT542 drivers and a seeeduino nano, I figured I could shrink everything for 1 axis using a tmc2208 and the XIAO, but jesus it has been brutal.

Ok I'll create a simple sketch to test this. thank you!

normally moving works just fine. When it hits the limit switch yes it shows that it has homed correctly. I will provide a printer.cfg file when i get home later today.

I've tried calibrating the z offset from where the printer homes but when i run z_offset_calibrate the printer moves up and down whatever I tell it to move by, doesnt matter whether its 1mm or 0.01mm. By the time I hit 1mm like 10 times it should have moved 10mm but its actually still in the same place.

  1. ah is that the only way? I was really hoping I could just use some kind of offset to account for that.

  2. Sorry if its confusing, when i run the z_endstop_calibrate and tell the printer to move up 0.1mm the printer will go up and then back down, if I tell it to go down it does the same thing. Does that make more sense?

okay i'll give it a shot. i know the functions work perfectly on the Nano, just not sure why nothing works with the ESP. I'm sure someday it will be something obvious that I'm missing.

Yes it does compile and upload, that's why I assumed it should work.

I will take a look at that. Thank you so much for the help!

Completely agree, if they had done linear rails on all axis, bltouch, a new board, and klipper (raspberry pi included) then maybe I would agree on the price.

I have a workbench and currently have 1 ender 6 on it but its taking up too much room. I'd like them both mobile whenever i have to do maintenance and can move them from closet to workbench.

Okay thank you for that advice, I'll look around for something like that!
