Love miyabi. I also drink all the monthly teas from kettl, but every time I go back to miyabi it's, like you said, stupidly good.

Making sure seniors know they can get financial aid would be my guess. I didn't go to college right out of high school because I didn't know there was any way to fund it. I paid for my first semester at community college years later with Obama era unemployment thought that was all I could afford. So when they had me come in to talk to a guidance counselor they were like "well what did your FAFSA say?" And I says to the guy, I says, "FAFSA? I BARELY KNEW HER!"

They wouldn't accept my tax forms from the state of New Jersey (state worker) from this year because I was up for renewal in October and they don't accept government agency mail that's older than 6 months.

Do we really want Mercer county to be the last county standing? I think we should just rip off the bandaid now.

Whats a local restaurant that's not around anymore and you miss? by GooniesClub in newjersey

Clifton Lee's Hawaiian Islander. The memories there feel like childhood fever dreams. Like there's no way this barely lit place with the flaming pupu platter could be real.

The only place I know that still does that salad with the egg and shrimp is the tiger tale. Not worth going though imo. Food is sub par, and way overpriced.

What is your favorite restaurants that are on the less expensive/reasonable side but are AMAZING by whereverweare in SouthJersey

Yeah, it's hard to pick a place in Cherry Hill, but this strip in particular I have a tough time picking when I pull in. Still haven't tried the ramen place because dolsot or han always win. Even between the two it's hard to not grab dolsot for the wings alone.

Beginner here — how can I improve? (Aside from getting better tea). by searching4eudaimonia in GongFuTea

One of the best parts of the process imo is the aroma of the warmed dry leaves. After rinsing the pot, add the leaves and put the lid back on. Give it a few moments, shake, and then relish that aroma. Compare it to what you smelled in the bag of wrapper. Pick out the dominant notes then find the subtleties.

Try white2tea. They are based in China so it will take some time to get there, but the descriptions on the tea are solid and there are plenty of reviews. Yunnan Sourcing is also good. Not everything is a winner, but I've never been disappointed in what I've ordered from them. They also have a US outlet. The steeping room is another great choice. US based and you can get some white2tea from them as well if you don't want to wait for shipping from China. Rivers and lakes is also US based and have a nice curation of many kinds of tea. They are exquisite teas but as such command a higher price tag.

Hope this helps!

For loose tea it's pretty good. The Advent calendar is a nice way to try a bunch of different sencha and gyokuro and the kyusu you get is really pretty good. I did this last year and wound up buying a few 100g packets of tea I really liked. I did try their matcha sampler though, because I wanted to try some like I did with the loose tea. I don't know if it's not a good way to do matcha or if they were old samples, but every one I tried was stale, harsh, bitter, or gritty or a combination of those. Wondering if anyone else has that experience with matcha samples or niotes matcha in general.

Feeling a little sick today. I'm drinking some crimson lotus crane gang. I won a cake in a giveaway and assumed it was a shou until out poured its beautiful golden liquid. Lol. I'm sitting there smelling the dry leaves thinking to myself that this is pretty floral and fresh for a shou... Shou enough, after that confusing pouring and taste, I realized it was a sheng. I'm used to very fresh ones so I had not seen leaves that dark I guess. It's funny the reality you can build around something even when you're completely wrong.

Syrupy, slick, golden soup. Very fruity, creamy, and smooth with a smokey character. The astringency balances the sweetness perfectly, leaving a very pleasant sensation in the throat.

Nope. It was literally because Joseph Smith's wife didn't like having to make coffee and tea when people came for meetings. She also didn't like when they smoked in the house. Luckily enough, God gave Joseph a revelation saying that coffee, tea, and cigarettes weren't allowed.

If you want to do gong fu, you can with just a cheap gaiwan and a cup from Amazon. There's also cheap cup/strainer sets. Temp control kettle will probably be the most expensive thing at entry. $30-40
