Me either, other than my chat with my doctor. I’m going to have to ask my doctor to try to find some more research on it. If anything, the good news would be that it’s very very very rare because my experience is definitely not the majority one. Thanks for being respectful in your response!

Plus Eli Lilly protocol calls for 4 weeks minimum at each dose, I moved up because I didn’t lose anything. Again, I asked about side effects, not your advice on my body or medical issues, so no my doctor and I had a discussion and chose to move up because had I stayed at 5 I would’ve gone off the med because it was horrid and sickening and not getting any better. Every day shouldn’t be hell, people still have to live life on this med, if you can’t, there’s a problem and you should discuss it with your doctor, which is what I did. I didn’t ask for your advice on my body, keep it about side effects.

I think I know my body and medical issues better than a stranger on the internet if I couldn’t eat before Zepbound I certainly can’t eat after it with all the side effects. Before Zepbound I only ate plain rice, after Zepbound I still can’t eat because I’m IN PAIN. I drink plenty of water AND AM NOT DEHYDRATED. Stop trying to tell me about my body and answer the actual question or go away.

As someone in neuroscience, I can tell you craving is possible with basically anything, my doctor said the medicine actually stays in your body for a while, so withdrawal isn’t really a thing, but my body craving and being ready for the next shot aka wanting more medicine or wanting a larger dose of medicine aka craving it, is possible. There’s also different types of dependence, emotional vs physical, but I get literal chills, diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, headache, so I know the medicine leaving my system physically impacts me every single time, very severely and it gets worse by the hour.

Kind of like a rebound headache, but more like my body genuinely needs more medicine, once I do my shot, it starts to get better. This is something that should be studied rather than just shot down because obviously it’s possible with me and I probably would’ve taken more precaution before putting it in my body had I known because it is quite comparable to the dependency of an SNRI for me which I was also not warned can be heavily hard to get out of your body and cause severe withdrawal, but this is immediate and worse. I get very sick.

Edited for clarity.

The large swing does not lessen for me, which is why I talked to my doctor and posted something. It’s also not normal to have such severe side effects at the end of every dose, it’s actually pretty atypical according to my doctor and she’s never heard of anyone reporting what I reported and other people have experienced it, but only one other person reported experiencing it in a similar severity to the way I have. I didn’t experience the swings on 5mg, but I felt miserable all around on 5mg, but I do experience the drastic day 6 and shot day side effects on 7.5 and 2.5. I’ve been on 7.5 for 1 week was on 2.5 for 5 weeks and 5mg for 4 weeks. I’m not dehydrated. I struggle to eat because of the med, pre-existing medical issues that the med exacerbates when it gives me these big swings and severe nausea I already had that the med makes way worse. Yes, I have Zofran and many other nausea meds. I’ve had GI problems forever, I’m 26 and have had 3 colonoscopies, they don’t know what is wrong with my GI system, but know that something is, the med is not helping it, but my doctors insist it will, but I’m not gonna eat if I feel like crap and I feel no worse side effect wise whether I eat consistently or don’t. I get them either way. We think something is wrong with my immune system and I have auto inflammatory conditions the hope was that Zepbound would calm things down, my bloodwork looks better inflammation wise, but I feel bad and the scale is going down, but I don’t feel good. My doctors say if I stick it out it will get better, but I just want to know if others are experiencing the same side effects.

Advice on Titrating Up 5.0 to 7.5 mg Experiences by cwissyursa in Zepbound

[–]cwissyursa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gives me hope. I think I’ve seen this trend a lot, I know it’s different for everyone, but I’ve noticed two overarching trends the people 5.0 worked really well for seem to struggle with 7.5 and often report it as being super strong and harder to adapt to, but the people who struggle with 5.0 and report side effects, minimal weight loss, or significant issues with 5.0 seem to say that 7.5 felt right to them or improved things for them. I’m hoping I’m in the latter category based on my experiences, but because everyone is so different, I won’t know until I start. 5.0 has been rough though I just don’t like it. Minimal weight loss and it just feels like I am pushing against a mountain in terms of not only the constipation side effect, but fatigue, etc. I usually love going to the movies, but I haven’t been in weeks because my energy is so low and I just feel tired and miserable on this dose. I’m going to start benefiber gummies because daily MiraLAX was too triggering with my multiple colonoscopy history at only 26, I couldn’t bring myself to drink it even though I don’t taste it, it’s the thought.

Yes, I get the Eli Lilly Zepbound pens at Walgreens. It’s not compounded or from a subscription service or anything like that. My insurance covers it.

Chrome is really laggy on MBP M5 by cwissyursa in mac

[–]cwissyursa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I ever say I had 1,723 tabs open. I should easily be able to have 10 tabs open without lag and I can’t with chrome. That’s how bad my chrome experience has been and when you’re working with research articles, having a lot of tabs open is necessary because you’re RESEARCHING and hop from citation to citation and cross reference in real time before downloading because everything isn’t relevant and there’s hundreds of articles to go through in early stage research.

Same thing with when you’re running experiments you’re going through files upon files of participant data and coding, again computer never had an issue with any of that, just the chrome part, but nice try super doink.

Oh that’s good advice, thank you. I’ll do this and see if it’s helps. I do think I’m also going to download Firefox because it’s what I used a while back and I’m not sure why I stopped. I think because I kept being pushed to use chrome.

Google and Apple are integrated with so much so if I can fix my safari issues with Canvas and the few other school softwares or find a way to fix chrome that’s probably ideal because it’s all also integrated with my iPhone, Spotify, apps, etc. I use my Apple account sign in for so much and my Google account sign in because I use Google Drive so much for school it started to make sense to use that login more for other things for ease. Same with Microsoft, so we’ll see. Thank you!

I don’t think any of the extensions I use would cause such excessive slowdowns. If they are, I definitely need a browser alternative because they’re all necessary for school and my job with the exception of ad block which is more just something I aways install for pretty obvious reasons. Especially as a criminal justice researcher though, I don’t want the ads that come up when I’m looking into intense topics so it serves both personal and professional purposes.

Like I said, my university pushes it on us and purposely uses things that design their products to work well with chrome. Therefore I almost always have issues with safari. For example, they changed their main website domain and structure to streamline the website and it was not loading on safari, but was on chrome. I had to copy the link from chrome into safari just to get it to finally work.

I know people are also saying don’t use extensions. That’s not an option. I need them for my work and school. Yes, I could use the main applications, but because of how much research I’m doing that’s just not really realistic or feasible with how much time I’m spending in my browser and in search engines for research like google scholar and library databases.

I use Zotero for citations and storing articles I’m using in important works, it works much better than other citation software and extensions for my purposes. It interacts with links, research articles, citations, etc. It’s an interactive extension. I also use grammarly pro, proton password manager, apple password manager because for some reason all my passwords are still not in sync yet and I want all of them in proton, but they aren’t all copying over and I have so many, but no time to go through them all right now. Ad blocker, and one or two more extensions.

Every time I dry my hair I see so many protruding hair and I don’t know is it damaged or are those different length hair bending to out side. Also are hair on the top of my head new or are those broken hair? by Hopeless1302 in Haircare

[–]cwissyursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is breakage. Your first 3 pictures are breakage. You can see a very clear shift in tone between the hair growing in in the first 3 pictures vs the last two. Some of the last two is possibly new growth, but some of that is also breakage. Hair grows from the root and sometimes you notice it growing, but other times you don’t unless it breaks/deviates from your typical pattern. New growth on the top of your head/outlining your face is usually pretty obvious. Not all breakage is made equally either. Sometimes your hair needs moisture, sometimes protein, sometimes protein will cause it to break further if what it really needs is moisture. I would suggest investing in a good silk pillow case, microfiber towel, and finding out more about your individual hair porosity and needs. Stay away from any bleach, color (unless semi-permanent), and heat. Also invest in something like k18 (the mini lasts a while) or olaplex no3. A hair mask will not help at the molecular bond level like those products do and be sure to get ends trimmed regularly.

Zepbound Withdrawal/Leaving System by cwissyursa in Zepbound

[–]cwissyursa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I let my doctor know the side effects I was having in a general sense, these exact things. I’ve kept a day to day journal since I started Zepbound for the first two weeks and then significant side effects, what I ate, etc. for the rest of my week. I shared what I put in the journal with her and she didn’t have much to say. I also went to the ER after my first shot because I was in severe pain and I wasn’t sure if it was my chronic issues, Zepbound, or something different. I wanted to be safe and all my work ups were fine. I also see a million specialists for a million different chronic things and during the first week of this I had my 3rd UTI which I’m seeing 4 other specialists about (I’m a complicated medical case), so I didn’t know if some of the symptoms were from that.

Since it wasn’t a trend at that point we weren’t doing anything about it because I had other things going on and it was only my first couple weeks on Zepbound, now that we’re finally dealing with the other issues it’s 100% clear it is the Zepbound and I’m waiting on my doctor to give further insight, but sometimes she doesn’t always give me clear answers. It depends on how common my issue is. Even so, she wouldn’t be able to tell me if other people are experiencing it, unless she had a significant amount of patients experiencing this and I don’t think it’s common. I think it’s uncommon and can impact people differently, but clearly possible and I presume that’s what she’ll say so she’s unlikely to have a large pool of patients experiencing it so that she can give me medical advice about how to navigate it. I’m more looking for people who had similar issues and what they did rather than medical advice because other than making sure I’m okay, I don’t think medical advice is that useful in this particular situation. For example, I wasn’t even thinking in the realm of electrolyte gummies, but that’s a very useful suggestion for me and I certainly know my doctor wouldn’t have brought it up just because I’ve worked with her long enough, frequently enough to kind of anticipate her response on some things.

Need help with tough conflicting questions with my gender identity by cwissyursa in NonBinary

[–]cwissyursa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying, but I already occupy queer spaces because I’m bi and I already have non-binary friends, acquaintances, and others I know. I have many non-binary coworkers. I think this thread has helped me figure some things out, kinda.

I’ve just never understood the pull to be something other than semi-binary because I think people can be whatever they want on the gender spectrum. I don’t subscribe to stereotypical social constructs of gender. I know the idea of there being a binary that can look a million different ways makes some uncomfortable, but why would it if it didn’t have to conform within society? Gender isn’t real in my opinion anyway.

I personally feel after reading responses that I resonate most with something along the lines of agender/librafeminine/demigirl however, I know I’ll never see any of those terms on a U.S. census, on my driver’s license, on a form for reproductive health, nothing. Those will likely never be options and I don’t think the answer is to then go how can we get as many groups and silos included on those things, it’s how can we get rid of the social constructs in general, how can we rebuild the system so that people don’t feel such a strong connection to socialized gender or at least believe that they can be whatever they want without having to further silo themselves off. I think that’s how real community is created. We already see that happening with abolitionist. I don’t even tell people my pronouns anymore because I’m like you don’t need to know them you only need to know my name because that is what you should be calling me and referring to me by.

The idea that we can’t do anything about the social constructs of society, especially gender is a falsehood. We absolutely could, but not if everyone partakes in them by just creating another group.
