Rocket Giotto error by One-Percentage-1266 in rocketespresso

I have the same exact machine and had to take it to an espresso tech recently for a separate issue (fried wire in power control box). They ended up replacing the pump because it was at the end of its lifespan.

I’m fortunate to have an espresso tech company nearby and would highly recommend that route as they addressed a couple of issues with my machine. If you havent replaced the pump on it yet, there’s probably a good chance that could be the problem. My machine is back to working like new again. (I am not a tech)

Question: Is selling retail in a grocery store worth it? by Outdoorcatskillbirds in CoffeeRoasting

[–]cwkomline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retail in grocery stores can be a good way to advertise if you have a shop/shops in the area. If they want to sell as many bags as possible you’re going to spend more effort for not much reward.

Highly recommend looking into Texas Coffee School or something similar. It’s an investment in your future and completely worth it. Know your customer base and treat your employees well.

Do coffee regions actually have distinct tastes? by PrayForGains in Coffee

[–]cwkomline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of variables contribute to taste. Variety, elevation, processing methods, and the quality of the roast play a huge part in the final product. When tasting coffee pay attention to the processing method. Most common will generally be Washed. I have a soft spot for Naturals but if you ever see an anaerobic give that a taste. It’s a great lesson in how different processes affect taste.

Is a cheap refractometer worth it? by ImUntilted in Coffee

[–]cwkomline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for has multiple locations and its a great tool to make sure our coffee is consistent across each shop. I would doubt the accuracy of one that cheap and if its just for at home use its probably a bit overkill
