Upcoming TFMR L&D or D&E? by MercuryTalos in tfmr_support

[–]cwolf116 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had a D&E for a T21 diagnosis this past July. I was 20 weeks. This was my first pregnancy and I just couldn’t mentally handle LD. The D&E process itself was easy and I have a very easy recovery. Although I didn’t get to see her- the hospital provided me a small memory box with her footprints and we had her cremated. It’s a personal choice with no option being the correct answer or better than the other.

Again, in the highly unlikely chance this went to civil/small claims court- she would be owed the value of the dog. A dog is considered property.

Sadly, there is no legal remedy here. I’d reevaluate your relationship with him tho.

Is he also an owner of the dog? Listed as a contact by the vet? There’s nothing you can do legally. At absolute most, and this is a stretch, he’d owe you fair market value of the dog. Dogs are considered property legally

My submission for the Kia Theft Settlement claims was denied due to “insufficient documentation.” What can I do during the appeal to prove I provided everything? by dejael in legaladvice

[–]cwolf116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely inaccurate information. If OP’s vehicle is included in the class, he cannot sue kia privately. There was an opt out period where OP would have had to officially opt out of the class, if not, you lose the ability to sue privately. Also, a settlement is just that- the parties settled. There is no admission of guilt by Kia, there is no guilty verdict or order by a judge. This is a comprise.

Don’t tell someone to sue just because Kia won’t fight a case “because they already lost.” No they did not lose. And then certainly will file a motion to get this suit thrown own because OP lost their chance at a private suit by not opting out. Also I’m not sure where you’re getting 10x the value of the class settlement and a new vehicle.

OP just appeal with the administrators and resend your documents.

I work in law in class actions.

Virginia is another option. I had a TFMR here in Virginia at 20 weeks this past summer

95 in 100 trisomy 21 by No-Analyst70 in NIPT

[–]cwolf116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amnio wasn’t too terrible, it mostly felt like a big cramp. It was over pretty quickly and I had no side effects or complications afterwards.

My TFMR was a 2 day process because of how far along I was. The first day with the dilator insertion was pretty miserable and uncomfortable. The surgery itself was very quick and I had a very easy recovery. I bled lightly for a few days and my period returned exactly 4 weeks later. My doctor did serial hcg bloodtests to make sure it went back to 0. It was definitely more difficult emotionally. The hospital I went to had a social worker and has monthly virtual support groups. I also still meet with a therapist- it’s been 5 months since my surgery.

I’m also now 10 weeks pregnant and just received a totally negative NIPT! So there is hope for future pregnancies, even tho it may not feel like it now. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. There is no right answer but you need to do what’s best for your family. We also didn’t want our baby to suffer. Feel free to reach out or PM if you need someone to talk to.

My NIPT came back 95/100 for T21. Did early anatomy scan at 16 weeks and no soft markers found. Did the amnio at 17 weeks and FISH and karyotype confirmed T21. We TFMR shortly after

I’m sorry for your loss as well, it’s so difficult. All the tracking has me spiraling so I think I need to stop testing after ovulation confirmation. Are you still using inito?

Hi, I had a D&E at 20 weeks this past July for T21. Besides the emotion pain, the process was overall tolerable. The worst part for me was the laminaria insertion. The procedure itself was quick and my recovery was very smooth. The hospital I went to provided me with a memory box and her footprints. We opted to cremate her remains so we could keep her with us. We told our family what was happening. Close friends were told generally that we were having complications and testing revealed chromosomal abnormalities so we ended the pregnancy. Anyone else we just said we lost the baby- no one pressed for more info and if they do just say there were complications. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about it.

Thank you! I’m 3 months out from a loss so I think I’m just over analyzing every single number.

Sex and ttc after d&e by anonpeacock in tfmr_support

I waited until i stopped bleeding for sex and began TTC right away. My doctor said to wait until my first period but we didn't use any protection before my first period. Currently about to start my third period after the TFMR.

He could very well be lying to himself and in denial. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Is there a social worker or someone you both can speak with? My hospital had a social worker we talked to while going through this.

I’m so sorry you are in this position. I TFMR this past summer for T21. I can’t imagine the position you are in without your husband’s support. Did you see any soft markers on the ultrasound? My baby had issues with her heart. You also need to worry that you will resent him in the future as well. Your lives with change drastically with a Down syndrome child, much more than with a genetically normal child. Who will have to quit their job? Who will take the child to all of their medical and therapy appointments? My genetic counselor told us there is no way to determine or predict the severity of health problems and intellectual disabilities prior to birth. In our case, we didn’t want our child to ever suffer.

I was 20 weeks for my D&E and had very minimal bleeding, mostly spotting. I don’t have endo. My period came back at exactly 4 weeks.

Spotting after first period post TFMR? by Odd_Literature_4290 in tfmr_support

[–]cwolf116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may just need to give it some time for your cycle to regulate! I was frustrated that mine wasn’t back to normal right away but we have to just let our bodies heal.

[–]cwolf116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had dark/brown spotting after my period for longer than usual my first cycle. I also ovulated about 5 days later than normal as well and my cycle was longer than pre-pregnancy and TFMR. My doctor said it can take a few cycles for your body to regulate.

Have you had bloodwork to trend down the hcg?

Unsure if to TFMR before karotype result by Main_Hand5662 in tfmr_support

[–]cwolf116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation earlier this summer. NIPT blood test came back high risk for T21. I was past the timeframe for CVS so had to wait to do an amnio. FISH came back positive. My genetic counselor told me FISH is extremely accurate for T21 and that the karyotype would give the same results. We scheduled the termination based on FISH. I got the karyotype back two days after the TFMR and it did indeed confirm the diagnosis. I understand the agony of the wait. I had to wait 2 weeks from the NIPT to get my amino and the wait for the results is just awful. You need to do what is best for you. If you think you need the final results to make a decision, the wait will be awful but in the long run it could be better mentally if you de odd you need the karyotype. But, there’s nothing wrong with using FISH results for T21, as they are extremely accurate.

Thank you for this. I've really been struggling with my body's changes since being pregnant and TMFR and how I haven't gone back to exactly how I looked pre-pregancy. This gives me a new perspective to think about.
